The Board and Staff of Bergstrom-Mahler Museum of Glass are deeply saddened by the passing of Paul Stankard. Legendary artist and friend to the Museum, we are so grateful for his knowledge and artistic gifts. Paul told many of attending a symposium at the Museum in the 1970s that deeply inspired him in his artistic making. He remained close to the Museum throughout the years, sharing his knowledge of paperweight making and always encouraging staff to share the love of paperweights with the community. He has left a significant legacy in many ways with all of us and at the Museum.
Our deepest condolences to his family, collaborators and friends.
