Double Portion Soup Kitchen Our mission at Double Portion is to know Christ, to make Christ known and to serve others in His name by providing a well-balanced meal to those in need.

The goal of Double Portion is to feed the needy in our community. The vision and mission began March 6, 2003 when small group of volunteers began meeting a practical human need by providing free lunches in the St. Thomas parish hall. Since then the combined efforts of servant volunteers, individual and corporate donors, an ecumenical group of churches, community groups, schools and prayer warriors

have grown the mission to provide hundreds of meals every week. Food drives have been the major source of non-perishable items for our pantry, which distributes hundreds of pounds of food each week. We ask God to bless the giver, giving and gifts. To whom much is given, much is required. Donors answered the call. Seeing God's blessings through Double Portion's growth, we have sought to build relationships of the heart and spread the hope of the Gospel while not judging others. All guests are welcome regardless of race, creed or need.

Double Portion is in search of a volunteer assistant chef.
And no, you don’t have to be a chef!
If you can help pull a meal together, you can do this. Many hearts and hands are there to pitch in.
A few hours a week.
A place where everyone is glad to see you.
A small, steady way to do something that matters.
You’ll need to be comfortable on your feet for a couple hours and handling larger pots and pans.
If you’ve been thinking “I should help”—this is it.

Double Portion Soup Kitchen will be serving lunch at our usual time of 11:30-12:30 on Wed Dec 24, Mon Dec 29, and Wed Dec 31. We will be closed on the next 2 Thursdays for Christmas Day and New Years Day. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from all of us at Double Portion!
