🎄 Nutcracker Participation Forms Are Now Available! 🎄

Valley Academy for the Arts is excited to begin preparations for this year’s Nutcracker performances! Participation Forms must be completed by July 17th for all students and community members interested in being part of this beloved holiday tradition.

This year, casting will be organized by class levels to help support the growing number of performances and create a more balanced rehearsal and performance experience for our dancers.

✨ Community participation is welcome!
Both children and adults are invited to be part of the production.

• Adults do not need to audition — simply complete the Participation Form to be included.
• Children interested in performing should attend one of the following audition opportunities:

Valley Academy for the Arts is excited to offer an Introduction to a Ballet Summer Intensive — a program designed to introduce dancers to the discipline, structure, and artistic growth found in professional ballet intensives while remaining close to home.

This immersive experience allows students to train in a focused environment that encourages:
• Strong technical development
• Discipline and work ethic
• Artistic confidence and expression
• Physical strength and conditioning
• Greater understanding of professional ballet training

Students will participate in full days of instruction including:
• Ballet Technique
• Pointe / Pre-Pointe
• Core Conditioning
• Classical Variations
• Composition
• Alternative Dance Styles
• Partnering

This program is an excellent opportunity for families who want their dancer to experience rigorous ballet education without the extended time, travel, and cost often associated with traditional out-of-state summer intensives.

Whether preparing for future pre-professional opportunities or simply looking to deepen their training, dancers will leave this intensive with increased confidence, stamina, and artistic awareness.

Program Tuition:
Dancers aged 8-11 — $28
Dancers aged 12-18+ — $350

✨ Introduce Your Child to the Magic of Ballet ✨

Looking for a creative and enriching summer experience for your young dancer?

Our Nutcracker Dance Intensive for ages 5–8 is the perfect opportunity for children to explore the beauty of ballet while stepping into the magical world of The Nutcracker. Through dance, storytelling, creativity, and movement, students will build confidence, make new friends, and experience the joy of performing.

During this special summer intensive, dancers will:
🩰 Learn foundational ballet steps
🎭 Explore the story and characters of The Nutcracker
🎨 Create simple props and costume pieces
✨ Rehearse and perform a small dance at the end of the week
🎄 Audition for Valley Academy for the Arts’ annual Nutcracker production presented this December

This intensive provides young dancers with a meaningful introduction to ballet while giving families the opportunity to become part of a beloved holiday tradition in our community.

Sessions available in June and July (Tuesday–Thursday)

Whether your child is brand new to ballet or already loves to dance, this program is designed to inspire imagination, creativity, and a love for the arts in a welcoming environment.

Beginning Ballet and Ballet 1: as normally scheduled.
Ballet 2: as normally scheduled.
Ballet 3: two class options: 4:30 - 5:30 or 5:30 - 6:30
Ballet 4, 5, 6, and pre-professional: 4:30 - 6:30

At Valley Academy for the Arts, enrichment is not an “extra” — it is a cornerstone of how we educate, mentor, and inspire our students.

We believe that great training happens both inside and beyond the studio walls. That’s why we intentionally create opportunities for our dancers to travel for masterclasses with respected ballet companies, attend auditions that expand their studies, and experience world of dance outside of the studio.

Enrichment also means exposure. We regularly bring students to live performances by companies such as the Milwaukee Ballet and the Joffrey Ballet — and many others — so they can witness professional artistry at the highest level. Watching world-class dancers perform deepens their understanding of musicality, storytelling, and discipline.

One of the pillars of Valley Academy for the Arts is fostering meaningful connection within our building. When students travel together, take masterclasses together, and experience performances together, they build friendships rooted in shared goals. These bonds often last far beyond their years in our studios.

✨🎉We are celebrating BIG this week 🎉✨

Our dedicated dancers traveled to Milwaukee, WI and Chicago, IL for summer intensive auditions—and their hard work, discipline, and artistry truly shined. We are thrilled to share that Valley Academy for the Arts students have been accepted into:

• Royal Winnipeg Ballet School SI, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
• Milwaukee Ballet Academy and School SI, Milwaukee, Wisconsin
• Cosmopolitan Ballet Theater SI, Northampton, Massachusetts

These programs represent some of the most respected training environments in North America, and acceptance reflects not only technical excellence, but artistry, and commitment to the craft.

At Valley Academy for the Arts, we hold a high standard for ballet training and artistic development. Watching our students step confidently into pre-professional spaces is a powerful reminder of what focused education, strong mentorship, and a supportive community can accomplish.
