🎃 Spooky season + bagels = the perfect combo! NSU kicked off the year at NHS with a Halloween bagel breakfast full of fun, laughter, and creativity. Our mentees got into the spirit decorating pumpkins generously donated by our corporate partner, Volante Farms. Thank you for your support! 💛

This month's Bagel Breakfast brought mentors and mentees together for a morning of sweet treats, creative crafts, and meaningful connections. It was a wonderful opportunity to strengthen the bonds within our NHS community! 🥯🍬💗

Needham Steps Up is a 1:1 mentoring program for deserving Needham High School students. Our dedicated faculty mentors build lasting relationships with students over four years, helping them grow, connect, and develop essential skills that will serve them for a lifetime. 🙌✨

We are so grateful for the support of our community Allies: Middlesex Savings Bank, Needham Golf Club, Beth Israel Lahey Health, Volante Farms, and Needham Exchange Club! Their generous contributions make it possible for us to provide exploration grants to each of our mentees. These grants enable them to explore new opportunities—whether it's attending a leadership camp, taking a course, or pursuing an enriching extracurricular activity. 🍁 It’s been a busy and exciting fall at NSU! 🍂

We’ve had the pleasure of welcoming back our returning mentees and mentors, and our dedicated program directors, Heather and Kate, have been hard at work creating new mentor-mentee pairings. We also had a wonderful gathering hosted by the NSU board, where a former mentee shared his inspiring journey with us.

To top it all off, our mentees and mentors came together for a fun and festive Halloween bagel breakfast—an amazing opportunity to connect and celebrate the season! 🧡🎃

It’s hard to believe Thanksgiving is just around the corner. We’re grateful for all the connections being made and the support within our community. 🌟

We love this time of year! Yesterday, NSU celebrated its seniors at the annual NSU Garden Party. This much-anticipated event brings all NSU students and mentors together to honor the achievements of these hard-working seniors and their mentors.
Of course, a Garden Party wouldn't be a garden party without cake and flowers. Many thanks to Hazel's Bakery for providing the delicious cake. Also, Trader Joe's supplied flowers, and NCC provided the vases which NSU students used to create beautiful flower arrangements for all of our mentors.

It takes a special kind of person to make the commitment to guide and support a student, and we are so grateful for our team of mentors who do so with passion and dedication. We gave our mentors a little coffee and chocolate goodie bag at our monthly bagel breakfast to show our appreciation and thank them for their kindness, wisdom, and guidance. 🥰 👏
