We said goodbye to our beautiful Boop. Unfortunately, her illness proved to be one she couldn’t recover from and we held her while she crossed that rainbow bridge to find her Betty. Losing them only a week apart has truly shattered us but we find comfort knowing they’re together again and healed on the other side. Part of us thinks Boop simply couldn’t bear to live without Betty.
Betty and Boop came from the worst of the worst circumstances. Through it all, they had each other. They had each other in that tiny cage, in the exhausting heat, through the terrifying darkness year after year. They always had each other. We are honored that at the end, they also had us. They finally had humans who loved them, respected them and cared for them the way they had always deserved to be cared for. As we held Boop while she passed, we told her that our only regret is that we didn’t find them sooner.
To our beautiful girls, we pray you find each other in every lifetime. How lucky and fulfilled we’d all be in this life if we found a friendship like you did. One that loved so deeply you simply couldn’t go on without each other.
