The Equity Alliance We proactively advocate for African Americans and other communities of color to have a fair and just opportunity at realizing the American dream.

The Equity Alliance proactively advocates for African-Americans and other communities of color to have a fair and just opportunity at realizing the American dream. We are a Nashville-based 501(c)3 non-profit advocacy group that seeks to equip citizens with tools and strategies to engage in the civic process and empower them to take action on issues affecting their daily lives. WHAT WE DO

Monitor legislation, engage in policy research, and hold our state and local elected officials accountable. Educate communities of color about the economic, social, and political issues and how impending legislation will impact their lives. Engage and Empower citizens to take action and make their voices heard. We resist, persist, join forces, call, write, petition, assemble, and most importantly, vote. Create alliances with individuals and groups in order to present a united front against any economic barriers that seek to marginalize, disenfranchise, or discriminate against people of color and vulnerable populations.

🖤 100 BLACK WOMEN. UNINTERRUPTED BLACK. ONE POWERFUL MOMENT. ✊🏾❤️

Jefferson Street deserves to feel the power, presence, and beauty of 100 Black women standing together. ❤️🖤

We’re showing up for TSU Homecoming with our heads held high, our red berets on, and our Black girl magic on full display. A celebration of our history, our culture, our resilience, our sisterhood, and the joy of being unapologetically Black.

From our grace to our swag, there’s nothing like the power of Black women standing shoulder to shoulder.

100 Black women. Uninterrupted Black. Red berets. Our presence is the message. ✊🏾❤️

On October 17, we’re showing up at the TSU Homecoming Parade in a way Tennessee can’t ignore.

The Equity Alliance is calling on 100 Black women to march with us in uninterrupted Black, shoulder to shoulder, wearing our signature red berets (provided by us).

This is more than a parade. It’s a visible reminder of what happens when Black women move together: we organize, we lead, we build, and we change Tennessee.

So grab your friends, your line sisters, your cousins, your homegirls…the women you know are about that work.

We need 100, and we want YOU in that number.
