Ten years of changing spaces. Ten years of changing lives. 💙
What began as a grassroots movement, fueled by the love and determination of parents and families who simply wanted to make the world bigger for those they love, has grown into a nationwide effort to make accessibility a reality for ALL.
These families weren’t asking for the world to revolve around their loved ones. They were simply asking for their loved ones to be able to participate in the world.
Because accessibility isn’t a luxury. It’s about dignity, inclusion, opportunity, and the freedom to experience all that life has to offer.
Here in Rhode Island, we’ve been proud to play a part in that movement, helping turn advocacy into legislation and legislation into law. But ours is just one chapter in a much bigger story.
Across the country, parents, families, advocates, and volunteers continue to show up, speak out, and create meaningful change. Not because it’s easy, but because they know firsthand what it means when a simple outing, a family celebration, or an everyday experience becomes impossible because the world wasn’t designed with everyone in mind.
True accessibility means accessibility for ALL.
Congratulations to the Changing Spaces Campaign on ten years of breaking down barriers, opening doors, and making the world a little bigger, one space, one family, and one community at a time.
I encourage you to learn more about this remarkable movement and the families behind it. Because the more we understand the barriers others face, the more we can all become part of removing them. 💙
