Voting by mail in the November 3 election? Here's an important reminder.

The day you place your ballot in a mailbox may not be the same day USPS officially postmarks it.

In Illinois, mailed ballots generally must be postmarked by Election Day, November 3, and received by November 17.

If you're mailing your ballot close to Election Day, visit a USPS retail counter and request a free manual postmark.

You can also return your completed ballot using an authorized ballot drop box in DuPage or Will County.

A little planning now can help ensure your ballot arrives on time!

Sharpie pens are the preferred choice for many ballots! ✍️ They’ve been tested for use, and any ink bleed is accounted for in ballot design. If you’re unsure about marking methods, just ask your local election authority.
