Today is National Donor Advised Fund Day.

What is a DAF? Donors receive tax deductions when they contribute assets to a DAF, and DAF Day encourages activating those idle funds to support active causes. If you have a DAF set up, you can recommend grants from your existing charitable investment accounts to IRS-qualified public charities.

This year, be sure to recommend Tree Research and Education Endowment Fund (TREE Fund) as part of your DAF giving and support our research and education programs.

Final call for our next TREE Fund Webinar on Friday, October 9 @ 12:00pm CDT. (Yes, Friday!)

Western Reserve Land Conservancy in Ohio will present their education program, “Western Reserve Land Conservancy’s Tree Steward Training Program” at their Ohio campus where they graduated 39 Tree Stewards to be caretakers of trees and related projects.

Cornell Cooperative Extension in New York will present their education program, “Urban Tree Equity Education and Outreach” from 2025-2026 where they engaged a wide range of people to educate and engage them in their surround urban forest.

Paul gave a TREE Fund update at the New England ISA Annual Conference this week. We appreciate the invitation and the ability for him to come out and talk to people about what TREE Fund is doing.

He also had a chance to help with the Heads or Tails competition with outgoing chapter Liaison, Paul Sellers, and incoming Chapter Liaison, Sarah Lilley. Thanks to everyone that donated and participated and congrats to Allen who was the big winner!

Paul's travels across the country continued last week at the ISA-RMC Conference in Westminster, CO. While there, he was able to connect with Tour des Trees riders present and past and give an update to chapter members.

He also caught first-year Tour des Trees rider Aaron Sincoular of SuperTrees, Inc.'s presentation on tree genetics.

Thank you to the Rocky Mountain Chapter for allowing Paul to come out and meet with everyone and thank you to everyone that attended that participated in their wonderful silent auction. We appreciate the support of all the bidders and prize donors!

Paul was able to visit the Pacific Northwest International Society of Arboriculture Chapter's Annual Training Conference for the first time this week in Boise. While there, he got to help out with the raffle and silent auction they hosted to benefit TREE Fund. Congrats to the big winners Andrea and Robben Fisher Van Winkle and thank you to everyone for your support.

Side note: He was also very determined to find a big potato while in Idaho before the conference started and that he did.

This year, Tour des Trees took its safety measures to the next level with Samsara.

We outfitted our support vehicles with Samsara AI Dash Cams and AI Multicam, allowing for a 360-degree view around the vehicle. Van drivers and their co-pilots used the live view to help spot riders as they passed, and we reviewed footage from the rides each day.

A cool addition to our big event!
