**Attack on Zamzam Camp**
A tragic and heartbreaking attack occurred today February 11, 2025, when the Rabid Support forces RSF launched assault on Zamzam the Displaced Persons camp in nearby El Fasher, North Darfur western Sudan. The attack has led to the tragic deaths of innocent civilians, including children, women, and elderly individuals. This horrific incident has left many others wounded and created widespread fear among the residents of the Zamzam camp. The incident has also left the entire camp in a state of shock and distress, as people who have already endured the hardships of displacement are now facing even greater challenges.
The residents of this camp had fled their homes due to the armed conflict in El Fasher which has been ongoing since April 2023, as well as the longer running conflict in Darfur since 2003. The displaced families sought refuge in the camp, only to face violence and terror once again. The attack has deepened their suffering and left them with an overwhelming sense of fear for their safety.
It is important to raise awareness about the plight of these displaced individuals and the devastating impact of such violence. The people in the camp were simply seeking safety, but this recent attack has shattered their sense of security and compounded the trauma they have already experienced.
We urge the community to stand in solidarity with the victims and advocate for immediate action to address the ongoing violence. We must call for a peaceful resolution to the conflict and demand greater protection for displaced individuals who are at risk. The people affected by this attack need humanitarian aid, protection, and justice.
We encourage the public to remain informed and involved in efforts to support the displaced and those affected by the ongoing violence. Together, we can work towards ending the suffering of these vulnerable communities and bring about a lasting peace.
