Huskie Robotics, FIRST Team 3061 Huskie Robotics is an 13 year FIRST Robotics Competition team that promotes STEM, leadership, & teamwork.

Our goals include:

- Building relationships with our community

- Strengthening our robotics family

- Going to World's

- Preparing for the future

The FIRST Inspire the Future School recognition showcases schools with outstanding commitments to expanding FIRST programs in their learning communities to inspire and cultivate the next generation of STEM leaders.

FIRST Championship divisions are out - and we’re in Johnson!

Some pretty amazing facts about Katherine Johnson:
 • She started high school at age 10, graduated at 14
 • She was selected to be one of the first three African American students to enroll in a graduate program at West Virginia University
 • She worked as a human computer for NASA
 • She helped calculate, entirely by hand, the trajectory of the country’s first human spaceflight in 1961
 • In preparing for Friendship 7, the spaceflight where the first American orbited Earth, the IBM 7090 computer did the calculations. But, the astronaut John Glenn requested Johnson personally to check the calculations to ensure they were correct.
 • In 1969, her calculations helped ensure the safety of the Apollo moon landing
 • She authored or coauthored 26 research reports during her career
 • In 2015 she earned the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest recognition for an American civilian

Wow what a week this has been! Our impact team has been hard at work, having not one, not two, but three (🤯) mentor reviews this week to revise our presentation and script. We are so grateful for everyone’s hard work as we prepare for Worlds!
We’ve been making the final touches on our robot and we redesigned our inner hoper walls.
And, we’ve had a blast hosting Roaring Robotics !
