We enjoyed being part of the robust community conversation around the Harvest Park Project at the City of Napa’s Town Hall yesterday evening! This central site would be a perfect opportunity for Napa’s first traffic garden and strider-bike pump track (see slides 4 & 5), where kids can learn to ride on the pump track and graduate to practicing street safety on bikes and scooters in the traffic garden 🚲 🛴 we look forward to watching this project evolve and providing thoughts on how accessibility to this future community hub can be maximized through safe travel access for all modes of transportation 🚲👟🚌

The Napa Police Department would like to remind drivers to slow down and be alert for people walking on our roads.

September is California Pedestrian Safety Month 👟 Walking should always be an easy and safe option for getting around any community; however, in 2024, pedestrians accounted for 28% of all traffic fatalities in California.

Speed increases increase the severity and impact to someone walking and hit in a crash - so drivers, know & follow the speed limit, slow down at intersections, and put down distractions like mobile devices. Pedestrians, look both ways and make eye contact with drivers before crossing the street, and make yourself extra visible at night with light colored clothes, reflective materials, or a flashlight 🔦

It’s a two-way street - everyone deserves to get home safely, so let's look out for each other.

Super fun evening cruise last night on our shortcuts and secret passageways ride! We ran into friends and members, and met new folks along the way. Thanks to everyone who came out to explore the connectors around town that are only for people on foot and on bike, and celebrated a beautiful Friday night on two wheels!

We had a fun afternoon of talking bike safety, proving tune-ups, and handing out tools, parts, and lights to residents at Valley Lodge on South Coombs. We partnered with Abode, Napa County Health & Human Services, and CommuniCare Ole to bring a variety of services all at once to people who needed them. Huge thanks to our volunteer mechanics, Robert, Lloyd, and Sam!

We’re chatting with folks at American Canyon Meet Me in the Streets this evening about our Bike Coach program, Safe Routes to School, and all things bike safety! Both kids and adults are learning about bike safety and electric micromobility through our fun Mythbusters game 🤩 the event runs until 8 PM - come say hi if you’re in the American Canyon area! Back-to-school season brings a logistical question for families: how will the kids get there?
