We want to give a big round of applause for the youth and families who spoke at the Calistoga City Council meeting the other day to advocate for a bike lane on Washington Street! 👏 Thank you for standing up for the safety of Calistoga’s students. We are also thrilled that our Safe Routes to School report could support the effort.

We’d like to take a moment to recognize PG&E for supporting Bike Month 2026 as a Revolutionary level sponsor! 🚲 Revolutionary sponsors display an incredible level of support for our local biking community and make events like Napa Bikefest possible--so it is extra special to share them with folks like PG&E Representative Mark van Gorder, who is a cyclist himself and who attends Bikefest every year. Thank you, PG&E! 🌟

Special shout-out to the Napa Valley Transportation Authority (NVTA) for being a 2026 Bike Month sponsor at the Revolutionary level! 🌟🚲 As the countywide transportation agency, NVTA both runs the Vine Transit system, and provides short- and long-term regional planning - just earlier this year, their Board adopted an updated Active Transportation Plan for safer, more connected walking and biking throughout Napa County 👏 We're always glad to see our friends and partners at NVTA throughout Bike Month, whether they're tabling at Bikefest or hosting a Bike to Work and Energizer station - thank you, NVTA!

Announcing Report-a-Hazard Week - Napa County! 📣

From June 22-28, we invite you to slow down, take the time, and report bike lane hazards to our local governments. Each has a way to do it, and you can learn more about that at our online training on Thursday, June 18, from 6:00-7:00 pm. Sign up for the training here: https://bit.ly/hazard-reporting

To add a bit of fun, we will give away a “Go by Bike” t-shirt and water bottle to one randomly selected person who posts a picture to their Facebook or Instagram account and tags us () of a hazard they reported between June 22-28. !

Public works crews often cannot see the hazards we encounter from their work trucks. Let’s help them help us!

NCBC is thrilled to welcome Jesse Gutierrez to our Board of Directors! Currently a Principal Planner with the County of Napa working on climate action, Jesse lived car-free for seven years in both New York City and Austin, Texas, before returning to California where he was raised. He came to know NCBC’s work in part through Bikefest, where he participated in a cultural ride. As a relative newcomer to Napa he said, “that ride gave me a real feel for the history and character of downtown in a way that no car ride ever could.”

Jesse has a “dream of multi-cultural, multi-generational community rides around Napa — neighbors discovering the simple joy of getting somewhere by bike, whether that’s the grocery store, school, or just around the block.” With his skills and experience in urban-planning and car-free living, his deep understanding of how transportation affects the environment, his genuine love of biking, and his interest in supporting a deeper connection between NCBC and Napa County’s multilingual and multi-generational neighborhoods, Jesse is an ideal addition to our governance team. Please join us in welcoming him!
