🌱 Depression Era Garden🌱
A huge shoutout to Ms. Mason and her amazing second graders from Reeths‑Puffer Central Elementary! Each year, they visit the Muskegon Museum of History & Science for the Big Lesson, and for the third year in a row, they’ve gone above and beyond by writing a grant to fully supply the garden at the Scolnik House of the Depression Era.
These students provide seeds, plants, mulch, and other essentials, and they roll up their sleeves to clean out the garden after winter and plant for the season ahead. Their work helps us share a living example of resourcefulness with our summer guests, showing how families made the most of what they had during challenging times.
We’re so grateful for their dedication and the beauty they bring to this historic space.
