☀️ SAE Summer Spotlight ☀️

Since June is National Dairy Month, we thought of no better stop than Lila’s to learn about her Jersey cow! Her SAE is unique and brings beef and dairy cattle together by using her Jersey as a nurse cow for calves that other wise would be raised on a bottle.

Aiden has an awesome entrepreneurship SAE in the area of Landscape Instillation and Turf Grass Management. He mows lawns and maintains landscapes around Murray and does an excellent job! Thanks for letting us slow you down a bit and visit you while you were working.

☀️ SAE Summer Spotlight! ☀️
Colson’s SAE is in the area of Specialty Crop. He grows dark fire and burley to***co with his family. He explained to us the entire process from seeding the plants, floating them in the greenhouse, setting, oiling, harvest, and stripping.

Congratulations to all of the students who passed their Agriculture EOP assessment in Plant Science or Animal Science this school year! Each student who passes their EOP earns 3 hours of college credit! To celebrate, the students were invited to attend a day learning about the industry and touring Broadbent’s learning about processing and marking, followed by a delicious meal at Patti’s!

Vet Science students Shakira Shouse, Izzy Stone, and Cameron Smith were able to attend the groundbreaking ceremony at the new MSU Veterinary Sciences Building this week! We are so excited to see the future this brings for animal agriculture in our area!

Our FFA members have been working hard! Check out some of the success they have seen recently! Great job! 👏🏻

Congrats to the CCHS Future Farmers of America!

They have earned numerous regional championships and other coveted awards this month!

Thirteen students won regional championships in the Supervised Agriculture Experience Project in numerous categories. Regional champions were Sayler Lowe, Tyler Ward, Lila Fulton, Dakotah Pittman, Luke Murdock, Evan Falwell, Abby Hathcock, Emerson Herndon, Gavin Luffman, Emma Erwin, Elijah Rudolph, Sarah Doyle, and Ellie Falwell. Seventeen entries earned regional runner-up honors, and twenty additional entries earned a "Superior" rating.

Six students were approved for the American FFA Degree, an honor less than 1% of all FFA members receive. Those students are Ellie Falwell, Cooper Housden, Fulton Manning, Jacee McKeel, Jayden Phillips, and Tyler Ward.

Dakotah Pittman and Elijah Rudolph are Regional Star Candidates. Luke Johnson, Abby Hathcock, and Grayson Roberts all earned State FFA Degrees.

Jaylee McLeod was elected as the Regional Secretary for 26-27, and Evan Falwell and Mason Falwell were approved as Voting Delegates.
