Last week, three of our staff members attended the Tri-State Elevate & Advocate Conference in Chattanooga, TN, alongside individuals from Kentucky, Tennessee, and Georgia! It was a wonderful experience filled with insightful sessions, wonderful guest speakers, new connections, delicious meals, and lots of great memories. We are thankful for the opportunity to learn, connect with others, and bring new ideas and inspiration back to our work!

Board Member Spotlight: Ashley Heath!

We are so grateful to have Ashley as part of our board! She has been serving for several years and currently serves as our Board Co-Chair. Throughout her time with us, she has been a wonderful community connector and a passionate supporter of our mission.

Ashley has a genuine enthusiasm for sharing our mission with others and building connections with organizations that make a difference in our community. Her involvement with Special Olympics is just one example of her commitment to making a positive impact and supporting others.

We are so thankful for the time, heart, and energy she brings to our board. Whether she is spreading the word about our mission, connecting us with others, or finding ways to lend a helping hand, Ashley is always willing to help where she can.

Today is a reminder to take care of ourselves and one another.

Every child deserves to feel safe, supported, and heard. Sometimes, a listening ear, a kind word, or simply knowing someone cares can make a big difference.

Let’s remind the children and families in our community that they are not alone.

Do you want to make a difference?

Training opportunities are available for individuals who want to become advocates for children in need.

Our training is 30 hours and is tailored to each individual. We don’t require you to have a legal professional or have a specialized background. What you do need is a willingness to advocate for children and help ensure their voices are heard.

If you have a heart for children and want to make a meaningful difference, this opportunity may be for you.

Today is a bittersweet day at CASA by the Lakes as we say goodbye to someone who has become so much more than a coworker to us. Today is Davonni’s last day with CASA as she begins a new chapter. While it is hard to see a coworker leave, we are truly excited for her and all that is ahead.

In just over a year with CASA by the Lakes, Davonni has made a lasting impact on our team and our mission. She has brought us so many laughs, memories, kind cards, supportive moments, and late-night chats during CASA business trips that we will always remember. She is kind, quirky, wonderfully chatty, and always herself. She is someone who will be there to listen, support, and encourage you, while also knowing when it is time to put her foot down and remind us why the work we do matters.

Her dedication to the mission of CASA has always been clear. She believes wholeheartedly that every child deserves an advocate, and that passion has shown through in everything she has done.

As much as we hate to see her go, we could not be happier for Davonni as she steps into her new position. We know she will thrive, make a difference, and bring the same heart and dedication to her new role that she has brought to CASA.

Thank you, Davonni, for the laughs, the memories, the conversations, the encouragement, and for simply being you. Thank you for becoming a friend and such an important part of our CASA family.

This is not goodbye. It is simply, “See you later.”
