There are many ways to make a difference for the children we serve, and fundraising support is one of them! Every donation helps CASA by the Lakes recruit, train, and support advocates who stand up for children experiencing abuse and neglect in our community.

Whether you attend an event, sponsor a fundraiser, make a donation, or simply help spread the word, your support helps ensure that children have a dedicated advocate by their side when they need one most.

It truly takes a community to make our mission possible, and we are grateful for every person who helps us create brighter futures for local children!

Children who have experienced abuse or neglect often face uncertainty, frequent changes, and difficult decisions about their future. CASA volunteers help bring stability during this challenging time by getting to know the child, understanding their unique needs, and advocating for their best interests in court.

Our volunteers work alongside professionals involved in the case, ensuring the court has a clear picture of what the child needs to be safe, supported, and successful. Through consistent contact and dedicated advocacy, CASA volunteers help children find permanency and give them a voice when it matters most.

The impact of a CASA volunteer can extend far beyond the courtroom. Knowing that someone cared, listened, and stood beside them can leave a lasting impression on a child's confidence, well-being, and future.

Please join us in welcoming our 6 newest CASA by the Lakes volunteers!

These six individuals have stepped up to advocate for children in our community who have experienced abuse and neglect. Their willingness to serve means more children will have a voice and support during some of the most difficult times in their lives.

We are incredibly thankful for each of them and the difference they will make for local children and families. Help us give our newest volunteers a warm welcome as they begin their journey as CASA advocates!

Please join us in congratulating Jennifer Apple, EVP & Chief Client Officer at CFSB, on her recent appointment to the Kentucky CASA Network Board of Directors!

Jennifer’s dedication to serving children and families in our communities has been evident through her years of involvement with CASA by the Lakes, and we are proud to see her continue that impact at the state level.

“I chose to join the Kentucky CASA Network Board because I have always believed deeply in CASA’s mission of being the voice for the child. Serving six years on the local CASA by the Lakes Board gave me firsthand insight into the needs within the Marshall and Calloway County communities and the impact CASA programs have on children and families. I am honored to serve on the Kentucky CASA Network Board and look forward to helping support and strengthen CASA organizations across the state.” – Jennifer Apple

What does a CASA volunteer do?

A Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) is a trained community volunteer appointed by a judge to advocate for a child who has experienced dependency, abuse, or neglect!

CASA volunteers take the time to get to know the child, gather information from everyone involved in the case, and provide independent recommendations to the court based on what is in the child’s best interest.

The mission of CASA by the Lakes is to advocate for the best interests of children in the court system and to help ensure they have the opportunity to grow up in a safe, permanent, and nurturing home for children in Marshall, Calloway and Christian Counties.

One caring adult can make a lasting difference in a child’s life!
