Murphysboro Youth Recreation Center- MYRC Our goals are to reduce negative behaviors in our community, including substance abuse and violence.

The mission of the Murphysboro Youth & Recreation Center (MYRC) is to provide a safe environment for youth and their families by building strong, healthy relationships that encourage and promote positive citizenship for our community. The center offers a wide variety of activities and new programs are continually added to reach out to other audiences. MYRC is also used by a number of community and

school groups including:

Key Club
Jackson County 4-H
Girl Scouts
Builder’s Club
Immanuel Lutheran School
Pate Chapel Church

Our Goal is

To provide positive mentoring opportunities
To promote an environment for youth and their families that encourages community collaboration to reduce substance abuse and violence
To provide positive interpersonal relationships
To achieve a self-sufficient facility through grant opportunities, facility rental, fundraising events, and community donation

We’re excited to announce another FREE Boxing & Life Skills Clinic coming Saturday, June 27th, 2026 at the Murphysboro Youth & Recreation Center!

Come out and have fun, learn while we’re doing it, and continue building confidence, discipline, teamwork, and life skills both inside and outside the ring. 💪

📍 Ages 8–12: 12PM–2PM
📍 Ages 13–17: 3PM–5PM
