The 8th Annual Couples Retreat is coming up. We are looking for 3 veterans and their spouse for this event. It will take place at Kinkaid Lake in Southern Illinois June 26-28. Each couple will have their own cabin for the weekend. You will also have a guide with all the fishing gear you need. Fish fry and Crawfish Boil. All lodging, meals, and guides will be provided. It is an absolutely free weekend. We cover all expenses. If you apply for this trip PLEASE make sure you are available that weekend. Deadline to comment “Getaway” on this post is June 15th. Last weekend we had our Women’s event at Crab Orchard Lake. 40 degree mornings and strong winds on Sunday made for some pretty tuff fishing. But we bundled up and gave it all we had. Caught some fish and enjoyed our time on the water. Great weekend with this group of ladies. Thank you Carbondale Elks for the great meal on Friday night. Special thanks goes out to the guides that helped last weekend. We appreciate it. Thank you ladies for your service. Couples Retreat coming up in June.

Our first event at Reelfoot was a success. The weather was not very nice but we made the best of it. There was plenty of laughs and stories told. Everyone showed up as strangers and left as friends with new memories made. That’s the main reason for the weekend. Catching a fish is just a bonus. The lodging at Faultline Lodge was top notch. Can’t thank them enough for the hospitality. Cheatham’s Pit BBQ was amazing!!!!! Thank you guys for the meal. Jason Mount and crew put on one heck of a fish fry. Thank you. Mafia Rods and Semo Custom Crappie Jigs took care of the veterans with fishing gear. As well as the first event went I’d say we will do it again. We might even have some waterfowl hunts down that way this winter. 😉😉😉😉. Definitely can’t forget about the volunteers that spent their weekend guiding our veterans. Thank you guys. Can’t do it without you.

ATTENTION LADIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The next event is coming up on May 1-3 at Crab Orchard Lake in Southern Illinois. This is our 2nd annual all WOMENS event. That’s right. We are looking for 6 female veterans for this trip. We had an absolute blast last year. All Lodging, and Meals will be provided. We will also have a fully rigged boat with a guide to take you fishing every day. FIRST FISHING EVENT OF 2026!!!!!!We are looking for 5 veterans for this trip at Reelfoot Lake. You must have a valid Tennessee fishing license. All lodging and meals will be provided. You will also have a guide with a fully loaded boat ready to go. The event will take place on April 17-19. PLEASE CHECK YOUR SCHEDULE and make sure you are available that weekend. Bit of a late post. We had a few veterans out for a couple hunts this past week. Seen a ton of birds just couldn’t get them to give us a look. But got some shooting in and got a few both days. Best thing is everyone hit the reset button and enjoyed themselves. Thank you for your service gentlemen. The hunts are pretty much wrapped up for this winter. We are going to take a small break before our first fishing event in April at Reel Foot lake.

What a weekend in Arkansas. We had veterans from Illinois,Kentucky, and Ohio come together for a great weekend of memories and laughter. It’s not about the piles it’s all about the smiles. We did pretty good considering the weather and end of the season birds. We did some picking and grinning in the kitchen. Laughed till our faces hurt in the blind. Seen some of the most beautiful sunrises ever. And made some new friends along the way. Shoutout to Route Irish Roasting Company for the coffee to keep us fueled all weekend. This is a veteran owned company in Central Illinois. Check him out. Huge Thank You to Greg with Rainman Outfitters for having us down again this year. Contact him if you want in on some Specks and Snows. See ya next man!!!!! We have one more hunt coming up. Then we are going to catch our breath and come back full force starting in April with our fishing events.
