UPDATE - Dr A called this am- Banana got relief from his catheter placement and passed the catheter without issue which is one part of hopeful news- he ate and is finally feeling comfortable. He does have a UTI which would be completely expected. Antibiotics will be started . Thank you all for giving this boy a chance . Everyone has already fallen in love with this little boy.

💛 HELP US HELP BANANA 💛

Once again, we’re coming to our community asking for help—this time for the sweetest little ginger boy. 🐾

A Good Samaritan found this beautiful medium-haired kitten, only about maybe 10 weeks old, alone on the side of the road. They brought him to safety, gave him food and shelter, and reached out to us.

We are already WAY beyond our intake threshold, but when we learned this baby needed help, we simply could not leave him to suffer.

On Sunday, Brandi- a kind Samaritan took him to Animal Medical Center, where we received devastating news: his urethra was severely blocked and his bladder was dangerously close to rupturing. 💔

He was immediately hospitalized for at least 48 hours for catheterization, IV fluids, pain medication and further testing.

At only 10 weeks old, he is incredibly young for the urinary issues typically seen in adult cats. Because he also has significant swelling, trauma is a possibility, as is a congenital abnormality. Right now, we simply don’t know.

What we DO know is that he deserved a chance.

So we gave him one. 💛

This tiny boy has already been through more than any kitten should, yet he remains incredibly sweet.

His current hospital estimate is $1,300–$1,800, depending on what his treatment and testing reveal.

We know we have asked so much of our community this year. But when a baby is suffering and there is something we can do, we have to try.

🐾 MEET THE MARVEL FOUR 🐾

Wanda, Loki, MJ & Thor 💕

These cuties were rescued from a backyard after a kind homeowner realized the stray cats they were feeding had never been spayed or neutered. They knew they needed to take action to prevent more kittens being born into uncertainty. They did their part, and contacted us.

What followed was a month-long mission—trapping all four kittens, + 1 sibling who held his ground saying “I’m staying outdoors” , plus getting Mom, Dad and two juveniles TNR’d. ❤️‍🩹 One backyard. One family of cats. And a cycle finally stopped. The homeowners were very helpful and really stepped up and helped each and every step during this process and learned quickly how much time and effort goes into trapping kitties. It’s all the time before, during and after that no one sees. The Marvels did, and they helped us each step. That’s truly stepping up to the plate. Thank you Lynda and Russell.

Now the Marvel Four are safe, loved, and waiting for their special humans. 🏡❤️

They are accepting applications and are simply waiting on their second FVRCP and rabies vaccines before they’re ready to head home.

UPDATE-Sadly Huck was suffering severely 😿 and was Leukemia positive. He sadly was beyond our help but what we could offer was to allow our vet partner to provide complete relief from suffering. He was humanely euthanized. Sometimes the help we can offer may not be what WE wish, but it’s the best and only option for a kitty suffering. If helping Huck cross the rainbow 🌈 bridge with comfort vs suffering and prevent spreading disease to our healthy colony was necessary - then it’s what we must do. Thank you to each of you who donated, as it allowed us to get tests and answers and then provide comfort to this kitty. Again cases like this hurt our hearts 💔 —if spay and neuter were being done as necessary there would be less Hucks in the world 😭

UPDATE Kitty-Huck has made it to AMC- he is being triaged now

Please help us help this baby. We have had a VERY sick kitty arrive at one of our closed colony feeding stations. One of our dedicated trappers successfully rescued this baby today. He is extremely thin, has matted fur on his body due to diarrhea and lethargic.

He is awaiting transport to Animal Medical Center for treatment in the next 30 min. Our Vol named this Kitty Huck.

At this time of year, we currently have 2 kittens boarding for a week at AMC for a chronic ailment- and now we will need to provide care for this poor baby who is painfully thin and very sick 🤒 all while providing care for the nearly 100 still in our care.

❤️‍🩹 A VERY SPECIAL FOSTER WIN ❤️‍🩹

Panleukopenia is a word no foster, rescuer, or pet parent ever wants to hear. For those who have faced it, we know this post may bring back some very difficult memories. We hold space for every little one who fought this devastating illness—and for the people who loved them through it. ❤️

For Dumpling’s foster, it was her first experience with panleuk, sadly not our first and tragically, his brother Noodle did not survive. 💔 His loss made every day of Dumpling’s fight especially emotional.

💗 His Adoption by his foster is what some call a “Foster Fail”… we call it a FOSTER SUCCESS. 💗

Dumpling fought. His foster fought right alongside him. And he made it. 🙌🐾

Today, he is the cutest little survivor—and a beautiful reminder of why fostering matters.

And apparently surviving panleuk wasn’t enough of an accomplishment… because now he’s out here absolutely SLAYING business casual in his very manly-man turtleneck sweater. 💙😂

We are so thankful for Elizabeth, who loved and cared for him through some incredibly difficult days; for our veterinarians who helped him fight; and for Dumpling’s strong little will—with a little good luck thrown in. 💗

We know all too well that despite doing absolutely everything possible, sometimes these precious babies simply don’t make it. 💔 That is why, when we are fortunate enough to see one come out on the other side, we want to celebrate that joy.

And after everything Elizabeth and Dumpling went through together, she simply couldn’t imagine saying goodbye.

So there will be no goodbye. 🥹🏡

Dumpling is already HOME.
