Today's joint SAR/C.A.R. chapter meeting after the 3 month summer break was a busy one.

We proudly presented a brand new C.A.R. chapter flag donated by our chapter to the Captain Nathan Hale Society, along with five kid size tricorns donated by WASSAR State President Viren Lemmer.

Compatriot Mike Hutchins was awarded the SAR Bronze Good Citizenship medal for his work in the community.

Darlene Carlson received the SAR Bronze 250th medal for coordinating the 250 bench dedication at the Pacific Northwest Naval Air Museum.

Darlene & Ken Carlson, Rodney, Johnmark, and Trina Jenny, along with "Doc" Marshall Anderson, Jeffrey Spencer, and Michael Moore were also presented with certificates of Appreciation today.

New member Michael Johns was also inducted today.

More to come next month

And with the successful conclusion of the final Patriot Gravemarking service at Pilgrim Reformed Church in Lexington, the final activity of the 136th Annual Congress of the National Society, Sons of the American Revolution has come to a close.

On behalf of the North Carolina Society, our Congress Planning Committee, and State President Stephen McKee, we want to say Thank You for the tireless efforts of all of the Congress Volunteers from all over the country. Thank you to all of you who attended, went on our tours, helped mark 30 Patriot graves, and gave your time to do the business of the SAR and push our organization forward into the future with the election of new national officers. Congratulations to President General Allen Greenly and First Lady Diane Greenly!

Come on back to the Old North State whenever you’d like!!

Be safe getting home, and here’s to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit for the next 250 years!!
