Want to be part of the 4x4 team? We are holding our monthly meeting tonight at 6:30 PM if you want to learn more about the team or join! We meet at the search and rescue building near the Bayview airport.

You too could get up at odd hours, in the cold, wind, rain or snow to drive around in the mountains, for no pay!!!!

Snow has hit the foothills around the region. This video was from this morning (12-20-25 - don't mind the wrong date on the dash cam).

A few reminders for those that want to go into the hills for fun.
1 - Take a vehicle capable of traveling in winter like conditions. Know your driving limitations and that of your vehicle.
2 - DON'T TRAVEL ALONE! Always travel with another capable vehicle. Fuel up before hitting the trail!
3 - Bring personal recovery gear like a winch, straps, traction boards, shovel, snow chains & air pump.
4 - Carry emergency food, water, blankets and warm clothes in the event you get stranded overnight. Many would suggest making a kit of the "10 Essentials" to leave in your car.
5 - Bring an emergency signaling device (besides a cell phone). Many of our mountain roads take you out of cell coverage in a short distance.
6 - Tell someone where you are going and when you will be back. If that plan changes when enroute, let them know.

We hope everyone has a safe winter of recreation!
