A little country music, a little beekeeping history and a whole lot of buzz. 🐝🍯

Dolly Parton’s East Tennessee roots included growing up around honey bees, thanks to her father, Lee Parton, who kept bees. A sweet reminder that beekeeping stories can show up in some unexpected places.

👑🍯 Honey royalty is about much more than the crown.

We’re excited to see the American Honey Queen Program featured in Ambrook’s Honey Royalty, a wonderful look at the history, purpose, and people behind a program the American Beekeeping Federation launched in 1959.

Each year, the American Honey Queen and Princess travel the country educating audiences about honey bees, beekeeping, pollination, and the essential role our industry plays in American agriculture and our food system.

The article also introduces readers to past and current representatives, including 2026 American Honey Queen Delanie Craighead and American Honey Princess Oceanna Escribano, and explores the knowledge, passion, and commitment they bring to their roles.

We’re proud of the generations of women who have carried this program forward and continue sharing the story of American beekeeping.
