We made history last night!!! We are so proud of these five young ladies for literally going to extremes (camping in 11 degree temperatures) to complete the requirements necessary to be eligible for election into BSA’s National Honor Society the Order of the Arrow. These five are the first females in the history of Nischa Chuppecat Lodge to be eligible for election. We will find out this summer who among them has been elected by their peers and deemed worthy of the honor. Until then, we are really proud of all of you!!!!

We had a great weekend! Hiked 6.5 miles in the Morgan-Monroe State Forest. Saw lots of nature and spent some quality time getting to know one another just a little bit better. We also had a chance to talk to some of the new girls in Cub Scouts that were visiting the Troop next to us. It was a terrific time with some neat young ladies. Go Venturing!!!!

Last night we all got to ride the Big Zip. The Advisor was excited because adults don’t usually get to ride on this. Afterwards, some went mountain biking and others went rock climbing. The Advisor went for a hot shower!! This morning after breakfast we hiked to the OA circle. This is special because the original OA circle at Treasure Island from 1915 was moved to the Summit in 2015. It was really cool. We also found the stones that each Lodge carried to the location in 2013. This also included stones from past Lodges.

Day 5. It was a bittersweet morning. On the one hand, the hard part was over and you could feel the warmth from the shower just a few hours away, but it was also goodbye to our Trek Guides whom were with us all week. Today we would be with the professional rafting company Adventures On The Gorge. Here are all four units that joined us for the week, which includes a Troop from California that were supposed to be at Philmont but their Trek was canceled due to fires. We had the Troop from California, a Troop from New Jersey, a Troop from Louisville, KY, and our Crew.
