💜 September is National Recovery Month.

Recovery is not one-size-fits-all. It can look like courage, rebuilding, asking for help, setting boundaries, starting again, or simply choosing to keep going one day at a time.

This month, we honor every person walking the road of recovery, the families and friends who love them, and the professionals and communities who walk alongside them.

At Peace Restored, we believe healing is possible, hope is powerful, and every story matters.

May we continue to replace stigma with compassion, judgment with understanding, and silence with support.

Recovery is worth celebrating. Hope is worth sharing. And no one should have to walk the journey alone. 💜🩵

We’re still reflecting on all that happened at From Stigma to Strength. 💜🩵

What began as an idea to bring our community together became a morning filled with connection, remembrance, encouragement, family, and—most of all—hope.

Along the walk, simple activities became meaningful reminders of why we gathered. Encouraging words covered the sidewalk during Chalk the Walk. Messages of hope were written and shared. Rocks were painted with words of strength. Our community added their fingerprints to a tree that now represents something beautiful: we are stronger when we stand together.

Families enjoyed time together, community organizations shared resources, music filled the park, and conversations happened between people who may never have crossed paths otherwise.

But the heart of the morning was the stories.

We heard from individuals who have walked through addiction and recovery and who are living proof that a story is never finished at its hardest chapter. We remembered those whose lives have been lost. We stood beside families who have been impacted. And together, we helped replace a little bit of stigma with understanding, compassion, and hope.

At Peace Restored, we know that addiction affects more than one person. It touches women, children, families, friendships, and entire communities. Our mission is to walk alongside women as they pursue healing, growth, and transformation—and events like this remind us just how important it is that no one has to walk that road alone.

To every person who came, shared their story, volunteered, performed, provided resources, sponsored, donated, participated in an activity, walked beside someone they love, or simply showed up with an open heart—thank you.

We are deeply grateful to have been surrounded by so many organizations, families, recovery advocates, first responders, community leaders, and friends who believe that healing is possible and that every life has value.

Our first From Stigma to Strength was something we won’t soon forget.

May we continue to listen well, love people well, remember those we’ve lost, celebrate those finding a new beginning, and keep walking together from stigma toward strength.

There is hope. There is healing. And there is strength in community. 💜🩵

Today, on International Overdose Awareness Day, we pause to remember the lives lost to overdose, honor the grief carried by families and loved ones, and stand alongside those walking the road of recovery. 💜

Every life has value. Every story matters. And there is always room for hope, healing, and a new beginning.

May we continue to replace stigma with compassion, judgment with understanding, and silence with support.

Today, we remember. We raise awareness. And we hold onto hope.

🎉 Happy Birthday, Francey! 🎉

Today we’re celebrating Francey True, Mental Health Coach, MA, MCLC, MHC, and the compassion, wisdom, and encouragement she brings to Peace Restored.

For nearly 20 years, Francey has been helping women rebound from adversity and move from the shadows of difficult experiences into the sunshine of recovery and resilience. Her heart for walking alongside women as they heal, grow, and rediscover hope is such a meaningful part of the work we do.

Please join us in wishing Francey a very happy birthday and a wonderful year ahead! 💙

Healing doesn’t always mean forgetting what happened. Sometimes, it means deciding what you no longer have to carry.

You can release the weight of carrying it alone, the pressure to control the outcome, or the need to keep fighting the same battle—without minimizing your story, your need for safety, your boundaries, or your desire for justice.

There is a difference between releasing the burden and denying the wound.

Healing can make room for both truth and freedom. 💙

At Peace Restored, we believe women deserve a safe place to process what they’ve experienced and take meaningful steps toward healing, growth, and restoration.

We’re excited to share that Peace Restored has received a $2,500 Spark Good Local Grant from our local Walmart in Camby! 💙

This grant will support the Peace Restored Healing Scholarship Fund, which provides financial assistance for women who are experiencing the effects of trauma, grief, abuse, life transitions, and other mental health challenges but may otherwise be unable to access the care they need.

Through the Healing Scholarship Fund, women may receive assistance with counseling, trauma recovery classes and support groups, healing retreats and intensives, peer support services, and other support that helps remove barriers to care.

We are so grateful to our Camby Walmart for investing in the health and well-being of women in our community and helping make healing more accessible.

Thank you for helping us continue creating pathways toward healing, growth, and restoration. 💚

We’re excited to welcome Christina Stevens, MSW, LCAC Intern, to the Peace Restored team! 💙

Christina joins us as a Clinical Intern while completing her Master of Social Work degree and licensure preparation in addictions counseling at Indiana Wesleyan University. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology of Human Relations.

Her areas of interest include anxiety, trauma, substance use and co-occurring disorders, women’s mental health, family relationships, and adoption-related concerns.

Christina is passionate about helping women discover their strengths, find hope in difficult seasons, and move toward healing and growth. She was drawn to Peace Restored because of our faith-based approach and commitment to caring for the whole person—mind, body, and spirit.

She believes every person has a story worth hearing and deserves a safe, supportive space where they feel understood, valued, and empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives.

Outside of her professional role, Christina has been married for more than 26 years, is the proud mother of five children, and loves being “Nina” to her grandson. She enjoys traveling, spending time with family, and making memories with the people she loves.
