The Wisconsin Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association was chartered on November 1, 1962. At that time, there were three NECA Chapters in Wisconsin: The Milwaukee Chapter, the Madison Chapter, and the Eau Claire Chapter. the Madison Chapter had eighteen members and the Eau Claire Chapter had eight members. In addition, there were a number of independent members throughout the sta
te. The Madison and Eau Claire Chapters relinquished their charters and joined forces to form the nucleus of the new chapter along with independent members from Janesville, Racine, Green Bay, and Manitowoc. Over the course of 50 years at the chapter, many dedicated and committed individuals have helped shape and guide the direction of the chapter. Many have come and many have gone but their contributions are alive and well. We have seen booming economies and we have survived depressed economies. One thing that will always remain constant is NECA's mission:
"To represent, promote, and enhance the management interest of its member contractors through labor relations, education, management development, apprentice and journeyman training, marketing and to coordinate the collective activities of the electrical contracting industry in the areas of government relations, technical standards, public relations, communication, information and business ethics."
