💕UPDATE: We are now down to 14 families needing a care package sponsored 💕

We are so close to getting all of our care packages out but we still have 15 families waiting for a sponsor!

We are currently looking for sponsors to help us complete these boxes and get them sent out❤️

✨ What does sponsoring look like?
Each care package costs $50 and includes:
- $25 Visa gift card (for gas or food)
- Toothbrush & toothpaste
- Coloring book + colored pencils
- Tylenol & ibuprofen
- Makeup wipes & eye drops
- Snacks
- A book of the families choice
- Menstrual pads
- Sleep eye mask
- + Optional personalized add-ins for the family

💛 What do sponsors receive?
- Your business card and/or a personal letter included inside the box for the family
- Recognition on our websites donor page
- A redacted version of the family’s story, so you can personalize the box if you’d like

This is such a meaningful way to directly impact a family going through a difficult time. Even one sponsored box makes a difference.

If you don’t want to sponsor but still want to help we are in need of individually packaged care items. It can be anything such as tampons, toothbrushes, toothpaste, snacks, etc. every donation big or small goes directly to the families who need it!

Iowa has the 2nd-highest rate of new cancer diagnoses in the U.S., and our cancer incidence is still rising. Meanwhile, kids are left behind: pediatric cancer research is chronically underfunded, and Iowa currently contributes $0 in dedicated state funding for pediatric cancer research.💔

Could you please consider sending an email to Rep. Gary Mohr, asking him to advance and fully fund HF2310 so Iowa’s children can get better (less toxic) treatments.

I want to share a transparent update with our community.

We currently have 17 families with special needs children who have already been approved to receive care packages. Thanks to generous donations, the contents for these packages are ready to go.

Over the past several months, our organization has been quieter than usual. Like many families in our community, our board members have been navigating personal and health-related challenges, particularly related to caring for our children with complex needs. During this time, we made the intentional decision to pause public activity while we regrouped.

At this time, we are short on funds for boxes, packing materials, and shipping, which is the final step needed to get these care packages out the door. Our immediate goal is to raise approximately $500, which will cover the remaining costs to ship all 17 packages.
Once these packages are sent, we will be pausing care package requests while we make structural changes to ensure the organization can operate more smoothly, sustainably, and reliably moving forward.
If you’re able to help us close this gap, whether through a donation or by sharing this post, we would be incredibly grateful. Every contribution goes directly toward getting these packages into the hands of families who are already waiting.

We Need Your Help to Reach Hospitalized Families!

Right now, we have more families requesting care packages than we’re able to keep up with and we don’t have enough donations. Every package we deliver brings comfort, distraction, and a little bit of love to parents, kids, and caregivers going through incredibly hard days.

If you’re able to help, there are two easy ways to donate:

🟡 1. Donate Items
If you prefer giving items instead of money, we are currently in need of:
• Hygiene products (travel-size preferred)
• Books for adults and kids
• Activities (crosswords, coloring books, journals, puzzles, etc.)
• Cozy socks (men & women)
• Non-perishable snacks
• Toys & activities for children of all ages
• Gift cards (gas, coffee, food, etc.)

🟡 2. Donate Financially
Every dollar helps us purchase essentials and ship care packages to families who need them most.
