On Saturday, June 13th the Detachment was out helping to judge cars at the Saraland Baptist Church for the 5th Annual Cruising for Christ car show.
With over 150 cars that came out to be judged thank you all for coming out to show off your ride. Congratulations to James Hair with a 1965 Ford Mustang who won the Veterans Choice Award, and congratulations to all the other winners in the other categories. Can't wait till next year.

On 21 March 2026, the Detachment held its annual meeting where the newly elected Officers were installed by the Department of AL Past Commandant Mr. Bill Reecer. We had 2 Guest Cheryl and Adam Newman and Cheryl was invited out to speak about Reach Out for Animal Rights R.O.A.R. along with their mission, and who we are working with on a few up coming events to include our state convention on collecting dog and cat food for the local animals.

John Reid received a 20 Year membership pin. Joined in 2003. (23 Years) Tommy Cox received a 15 Year membership pin. Joined in 2007. (19 Years) Kimber Payne received a 5 Year pin. Joined in 2017. (9 Years)
Jermaine Payne received a 5 Year pin. Joined in 2017. (9 Years)
Fred Phelps received a 5 Year pin. Joined in 2018. (8 Years)
Distinguished Citizen Awards were given to the following for their unwavering dedication to the League and for holding board positions for the 2025-2026 year.

Sunday, March 15th at the University of South Alabama working with the Society of Automotive Engineers the Detachment took place in helping to judge the cars and motorcycles. The day started off with a lite shower and then the sky's opened up for a nice day. Special thank you to the Society of Automotive Engineers for hosting the show and allowing the Marine Corps League to help out and be able to reach out to other Veterans. Congratulations to Randall Miller who won the Veterans Choice Award with bringing out a piece of Mobile AL history. The vehicle that was chosen was Chevrolet 4400 Flat Bed with a mobile crane and welder that was used to install the Government St. Whataburger many years ago. And Congratulations to all the other winners of the car show.

This past weekend on February 28th the detachment was honored to judge the 15th Annual Port City Corvette Club's car show at Government Street Baptist Church.
Congratulations to Steve Wilson on winning the Veterans Choice Award with a Corvette Grand Sport and Congratulations to all the other winners at the show.
It was surly a beautiful day to get out and see all the nice cars can't wait till next year.
