This 3-part workshop is designed to help participants build foundational photography skills while exploring creativity and self-expression. Whether you’re using a smartphone or a camera, this hands-on series will guide you through the basics and help you grow your confidence behind the lens.

Workshop Dates (attendance required for all sessions):

Participants will learn:
• Basic photography techniques and composition
• Lighting and perspective
• How to capture meaningful moments and tell a story through photos

It was a great pleasure to host Alex Karagas with the Alabama Veterans Resources Center this week - "The Alabama Veterans Resource Center (AVRC) serves as a comprehensive "one-stop shop" for veterans and their families. The flagship headquarters is located at 100 Dexter Avenue, Montgomery, AL 36104. It connects veterans statewide with resources for VA benefits, employment, housing, mental health, and education." Join us for our upcoming Mental Health First Aid Course!

Join us for a free Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) course on May 22nd at Vets Recover in Mobile, AL.

This 8-hour training is open to the public and designed to equip you with the skills to recognize, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges. Whether you’re supporting a friend, family member, coworker, or someone in your community, MHFA gives you practical tools to make a real difference.

Participants will learn how to:
Identify common signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use challenges
Provide initial support and connect individuals to appropriate care
Respond confidently in crisis and non-crisis situations

This course is completely free, but space may be limited—so early registration is encouraged.
