Thirty years ago, our founder Josh Slotnick and his colleagues figured something out — not in a classroom, but in a field.

Small groups of people. Humble work. Tangible, beautiful results.

That combination turned out to be transformative — for university students, for volunteers, for teens hired on at the PEAS Farm. And the formula hasn't changed.

The rooster has spoken — Farm Party tickets are officially on sale! 🐓

Join us for our 25th annual Farm Party on Thursday, August 13th at the PEAS Farm. This year we're celebrating 30 years of being Missoula Grown, and we're doing it right: live music from Nate Biehl & Caroline Keys and The Best Westerns, a farm fresh meal, local brews from Blacksmith Brewing and Western Cider, and dancing in the fields where it all began.

The rooster is back 🐓 — and you helped make it happen!

We asked our community to vote on which iconic Garden City Harvest design to reprint for Farm Party, and the rooster won (narrowly!). Now you can pre-order it on a classic tee, a more fitted tee, a cozy sweatshirt, or a long-sleeve tee — before Sunday at midnight.

Why pre-order? Because every year our shirts sell out at the event and people go home without one. Pre-ordering guarantees your size AND gets you access to the sweatshirt and long-sleeve styles, which won't be available day-of.

Shirts will be ready for pickup at Farm Party on August 13th, or at our office just after the event.

Greens thrive in the cold — and they're some of the most powerful things you can grow (and eat) on this green earth. That deserves a celebration.

🌱 Last Saturday was the Great Day of Gardening — and what a day it was! Across all 11 of our community garden sites, gardeners came together to dig in, learn, connect, and kick off the season with joy and new beginnings.

A huge thank you to our generous donors who made the day extra special:

Every year, more than 2,600 students and teachers visit PEAS Farm through our Farm to School program — and every class leaves its own mark on us.

When 4 and 5 year olds from Clinton ELP came out to taste their way across the farm — visiting pigs, holding fresh eggs, and sampling whatever was ready to harvest — they left us this. 💛

Their teacher, Jenny Hartwick, said it best: "My 4 and 5 year olds get an incredibly enriching adventure every time we visit. This has been such a wonderful experience every year and we are grateful to get the opportunity."
