Drug Take Back Day is this Saturday, October 25!

Take a few minutes to clean out your medicine cabinet and safely dispose of unused or expired medications. Proper disposal helps prevent misuse and protects our environment.

💉 You can also safely dispose of used needles and syringes at designated locations in our community.

Too often, unused prescription drugs find their way into the wrong hands. That's dangerous and often tragic. That's why it was great to see thousands of folks from across the country clean out their medicine cabinets and turn in - safely and anonymously - a record amount of prescription drugs.

𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐫𝐮𝐠 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐃𝐚𝐲 - 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟓, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓
The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.

This is a great time to clean out those cabinets! There are several locations for folks to drop off unused medications:

On September 25, Missoula Public Health is proud to join communities across the country in promoting Naloxone—a life-saving medication that can reverse an opioid overdose.

💙 Stop by Missoula Public Health on Thursday, September 25 to pick up FREE Naloxone and learn how to use it. Having it on hand could save someone’s life.

Tomorrow, at a vigil held at the oval on UM's campus for International Overdose Awareness Day, we will be honoring Cody and other lives tragically cut short due to overdose in our community.

On August 31st at 8:30 pm, we’ll gather at Main Hall on UM’s campus for a candlelight vigil to honor those we’ve lost to overdose. This event is about coming together as a community—and your stories are at the heart of it.

We invite you to share a story or photo of a loved one affected by overdose. Your words and memories will be shared during the vigil, helping us remember, heal, and support one another.
