🔥 PARIS VS. SVUSD: CLASS SIZE REALITY CHECK 🔥
While Paris takes to the streets—and sets trash bins ablaze—over class sizes hitting 30 students, teachers right here in Saddleback Valley are facing kindergarten class caps set at 32!
Let that sink in. 32 five-year-olds in one classroom.
In France, a ratio like that spark riots. In SVUSD, teachers show up every single day, creating safe, engaging, and loving environments for kids, all while pushing through stalled processes and endless delays. But this not sustainable, and the pleas go unanswered.
For 2 years, SVEA has been fighting at the bargaining table for contractual class size limits.
We haven’t lit any bins on fire.
We haven’t shut down the streets.
We have followed every guideline of formal negotiations and engaged in good-faith bargaining.
Yet, despite our patience, professionalism, and commitment to the process, SVUSD continues to drag its feet and declare that The Status Quo is Good Enough!
We choose constructive advocacy because we care deeply about our students and our community and The Status Quo has got To Go!
Patience isn’t infinite when student learning conditions are on the line. Small class sizes aren’t a luxury—they are the foundation of quality education.
