Happy National Library Week!

To celebrate, we wanted to announce that Les Touches will be returning to the system to preview our Spanish program "Semejanzas i Diferencias". This program features two sections: 1) works from Spain spanning from the medieval period to the Baroque period, and 2) popular songs (including the one by Celia Cruz in this post's audio) and other works from the New World. Both sections consist of material written and arranged for viol consort, violin and viol, voice & viol, and voice & vielle.

You can catch Les Touches at the following locations and dates:

1. Sat, MAY 2 @ 2PM - Central Library, 500 McKinney St, Houston, TX 77002
2. Wed, MAY 13 @ 6 PM - Looscan Neighborhood Library, 2510 Willowick Rd, Houston, TX 77027

We are so excited to present a concert of music by 17th-century English composers Tobias Hume, Thomas Ford, and Alfonso Ferrabosco II, performed on two bass viols played “lyra way” 🔱

We are thrilled to be joined by artists from the BALAM Dance Theatre, Carlos Fittante, Erin Hunter Jennings and Yumiko Niimi, will interpret the dance pieces in the program.
