The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has launched a safety study of mifepristone, the abortion pill used in medication abortions. According to reports, the study will review hundreds of thousands of cases and examine safety outcomes associated with the drug.

Human Life Alliance welcomes this review.

"How many more mothers have to die from complications of mail-order abortion drugs because they had no medical oversight?

We welcome the review, and we encourage the Supreme Court to defend state laws established to defend the lives of unborn. These mail-order abortion drugs violate the Comstock Act and sound medical judgement. They must be found unsafe and banned."

If medications are affecting fish… what does that mean for us?

Pharmaceuticals enter our water through wastewater—and many aren’t fully removed by treatment systems. Studies show these substances can alter fish behavior, reproduction, and survival—raising serious questions about long-term environmental and human impact.

This isn’t just an environmental issue—it’s a human one.

Who decides when medical treatment is “futile”?

Some healthcare systems use what is known as “futile care” policies. These policies can allow physicians or hospital ethics committees to determine whether life-sustaining treatment should be withheld or withdrawn—even when the patient or family wants care to continue.

These decisions can have profound ethical and legal implications for patients and families.

One widely known case involved Tinslee Lewis, a child born with a rare heart defect. When a hospital committee voted to stop life-saving treatment, her mother fought the decision in court. After a long legal battle, they ultimately won the case.

Stories like this highlight why it is important for patients and families to understand their rights before facing a medical crisis.

Be honest—Is this what dating looks like now?
DMs.
Texts all day.
Overthinking every message.

Then when you’re finally together…You’re both on your phones.
No real conversation.
No real connection.

That’s not a relationship. That’s a screen habit.

If you actually like her—do it differently:
Talk to her in real life
Start as friends, in group settings
Have real conversations (not just texts)
Ask her on a real date—in person
Take it slow

Clear communication > confusing “talking stages”

If you want something real…you have to show up in real life.

What happens to medications after we take them?

From manufacturing to disposal to human and animal waste, pharmaceutical chemicals don’t just disappear—they enter our water and soil.

Studies have found traces of drugs in a majority of U.S. waterways, raising concerns about long-term effects on ecosystems and wildlife.

This is a conversation we can’t ignore.

Medical decisions during a serious illness can be complex, yet some systems attempt to simplify them into a series of checkboxes.

Physician Orders for Life-Sustaining Treatment (POLST) forms are designed to document treatment preferences for patients with serious health conditions. Once completed and signed by a healthcare provider, they can become immediate medical orders that guide treatment decisions.

Because of their potential impact, it’s important for patients and families to understand exactly what these forms mean and how they may affect medical care.

Learn more about POLST and other advance directives in our Informed magazine. Our Informed magazine explains how advance directives work and why it’s important to carefully consider each option before signing.

It’s not easy being a girl in 2026.

You’re balancing school, friendships, expectations, and a whole second world online… all at the same time. And underneath all that pressure?
You still have dreams. A future. A life you want to build.

Here’s the truth most people won’t say clearly:
Your choices right now matter more than you think. Research shows that avoiding poverty isn’t random—it’s actually strongly connected to three simple decisions:
✔️ Finish high school
✔️ Work full-time
✔️ Wait until marriage to have kids

That’s a 97% chance of avoiding poverty.

This isn’t about pressure.
It’s about power.

You’re not stuck.
You’re not behind.
You’re building something, whether you realize it or not.

You’re not just living life…you’re building your future with every choice.

What if what we flush away… never really goes away?

From medications to everyday chemicals, our bodies don’t absorb everything we consume—and what’s left behind enters our water systems.

Even advanced treatment plants can’t fully remove these substances, meaning they continue impacting wildlife, ecosystems, and potentially us.

It’s time to think bigger about how our choices affect the world around us.

“It didn’t matter that I was his mother.”

When Paulette’s son was airlifted after a serious car accident, hospital staff wouldn’t even confirm he was a patient. Because he was over 18, she had no legal authority to speak with doctors or access information about his condition.

Her experience shows why every adult should have a Medical Power of Attorney in place before a crisis happens.

Read Paulette’s story in our Informed magazine.
