Celebrate Minnesota Wine Day where our state’s wine story began! Alexis Bailly Vineyard was first planted in Hastings in 1973, becoming Minnesota’s first commercial vineyard, with the winery following in 1978.

Today, this historic vineyard remains a welcoming place to gather, relax and enjoy wine made right here in Minnesota. Sip your way through their award-winning wines, explore the beautiful grounds or reserve one of their open-air vineyard yurts for an extra-special afternoon with friends.

Rolling hills, rows of grapevines and—yes—two iconic silos make Two Silo Winery & Vineyard in Grant a picture-perfect stop for Minnesota Wine Day!

Nestled on 22 beautiful acres just outside the Twin Cities, this family-owned winery combines the charm of a historic dairy farm with a warm, modern tasting experience. Its vineyard is home to more than 2,300 vines, while its handcrafted wine collection includes everything from locally grown Midwest varieties to wines made with grapes sourced from around the country.

It's National Pinot Noir Day, and if you love the silky, elegant character of Pinot Noir, we've got a few Minnesota reds you'll want to meet.

Our cold-climate varietals weren't bred to imitate anyone, but a handful of them share the very qualities that make Pinot Noir so beloved.

Start with Marquette. Its dark cherry fruit and genuine structure echo the depth and backbone that Pinot Noir fans reach for, with a peppery edge that keeps it interesting.

Then there's Frontenac Noir, the one that speaks Pinot Noir's language most directly. Bright cherry, a lift of plum, and that lively acidity that makes a wine come alive next to a plate of food.

And Petite Pearl brings the elegance. Soft, rounded tannins and a smooth finish that feels a lot like the graceful side of Pinot Noir, with deep color and notes of blackberry and spice all its own.

Minnesota Wine Day is coming up on August 29, and there's no wrong way to spend it. Which one are you?

🍷 The Patio Person
You find a winery patio with a view, order something chilled and easy-drinking, and settle in. There's live music somewhere behind you, the afternoon is long, and you're in no hurry to be anywhere else.

🍇 The Wine Nerd
You go straight for the tasting flight, then sign up for the vineyard tour. You want to know which cold-hardy grapes went into your glass and how the season treated them. By the time you find the winemaker, you've already got three questions ready.

🧀 The Snack Strategist
For you, it's all about the pairing. A local wine, a well-built cheese board, maybe a full dinner if the winery has a kitchen. Every sip has a bite waiting for it, and you planned it that way.

Have you ever attended a wedding at a Minnesota winery?

There's something special about saying "I do" among the vines. Rows of cold-hardy grapes in the background, a glass of Minnesota-grown wine in hand, and family and friends gathered where the fruit is grown and the wine is made.

A lot of our wineries do more than pour tastings. Many host weddings, receptions, and private events, welcoming people into the same spaces where the harvest happens each fall. 🍇
