🎣 Reel Heroes Fishing Retreat – A Weekend to Remember! 🎣

Last week, Fishing For Life was honored to host our First Annual Military R&R "Reel Heroes Fishing" Event at beautiful Reno Lake Resort. Eight veterans joined us for a day filled with fishing, fellowship, relaxation, and great memories.

A special thank you goes to Jamie and Tricia Shoutz, owners of Reno Lake Resort, for their outstanding hospitality and support. They helped make this event a tremendous success. The food was fantastic, the fishing was enjoyable, and the camaraderie shared among our veterans was truly inspiring.

Events like Reel Heroes provide an opportunity for veterans to connect with one another, enjoy the outdoors, and experience the healing power of fishing and fellowship. We are grateful to everyone who helped make this inaugural event possible and look forward to growing this program in the years to come.

Thank you to our veterans for your service and sacrifice. We were honored to spend this special time with you.

We’re incredibly grateful for our continued partnership with Egan Company! Their support has been monumental in helping us prepare rods, reels, and tackle boxes for our Reel ’Em In Program.

Because of partners like Egan Company, we’re able to get fishing equipment into the hands of youth, veterans, and community members, creating opportunities to connect with the outdoors, build relationships, and make lasting memories.

Enjoy an evening of guided fishing, meaningful conversation, fellowship, and a short devotional while cruising aboard one of our pontoons. Whether you're an experienced angler or just looking for a relaxing time on the water, there's a place for you.

One of our first Metro Camps of the season, Reel Connections, is in the books! 🎣 This weekend we had seven campers with us in Eden Prairie learning about fishing, conservation, and God’s deep love for us.

And we weren’t just fishing on Minnetonka… we were catching! 🐟 Our Camp Champ for the weekend reeled in an impressive 65” total across 5 different species! What a fun weekend of learning, laughter, and making Reel Connections.

🎣 What an incredible day of impact!

Last Thursday at the Emma B. Howe YMCA in C**n Rapids, 100 volunteers from Cummins Diesel, Ispiri, and Fishing For Life came together to refurbish hundreds of rods, reels, and tackle boxes for our Reel ‘Em In Program—capping off our month-long donation drive with YMCAs of the North.

Because of the hard work and generosity of everyone involved, more youth, veterans, and community members will have access to the joy and healing that fishing can bring.

Thank you to every volunteer who rolled up their sleeves and made a difference—we couldn’t do it without you! 💙🎣

What a weekend for Fishing For Life’s mobile trout pond! 🎣

We kicked things off at a senior living facility, helping residents get hooked up with some BIG trout and plenty of smiles. Then it was off to Omaha, Nebraska for Fishfest 2026!

A huge thank you to our trout pond coordinator Mike for all the hard work, preparation, and miles behind the wheel to make these events happen. We’re also incredibly grateful for all of our volunteers who gave their time this weekend — especially Brian L. for making the long drive to Nebraska.

Because of you all, more people were able to experience the joy of fishing and the outdoors this weekend. Thank you for helping us make memories that matter! 💙🐟
