Going Vegan is extremely rewarding for so many reasons but can definitely be challenging at first. A new vegan may find themselves overwhelmed by situations where they need a little guidance. Maybe you've thought about going Vegan but have so many questions; How and what do I order in a restaurant?, What's this B12 stuff all about?, How do I tell my family and what kinds of resources can I share w

ith them so they will support my decision?, What are some courteous ways to stand up to a rude co-worker?, I keep hearing about refined white sugar, why should I care?, What more can I do to help animals?, etc. The Animal Rights Coalition is proud to announce our newest program: Vegan University. Vegan U hosts workshops, discussion focus groups, vegan grocery shopping tours, and a vegan mentor program. Good folk of the realm,

The Minnesota Renaissance Festival opens August 22, and while it's a celebration of creativity, craftsmanship, and fantasy, one tradition belongs in the past: using elephants and camels for entertainment.

We are calling on Jim, owner of the Minnesota Renaissance Festival, to end the use of elephants and camels at the festival and embrace entertainment that celebrates human talent instead of exploiting animals.

Here's how you can help:

Sign the Petition
Click the link or the QR code to get to the Petition, urging Jim to retire the elephants and camels from the Minnesota Renaissance Festival once and for all.

Send a Postcard, Email, or Leave a Message
Create your own, OR, visit Ethique Nouveau in Mpls, MN to pick up a postcard addressed to the owner of Mid-America Festivals/MN RenFest. A handwritten message can make a powerful difference. Together, our voices can encourage the festival to choose compassion.

If You Attend the Festival...
Make a brief stop at the King's Gate Information Booth and respectfully share your concerns. A little medieval courtesy goes a long way:

"Good morrow, Fair Gentles. I pray thee deliver this humble message unto the Festival's keeper: Though the Renfest brings joy, my heart is heavy to witness elephants and camels kept for our amusement. May future fairs honor these noble beasts by allowing them to live in peace, free from such labors. I thank thee for thine audience."

Join Us at a Protest
Stand with us outside the Minnesota Renaissance Festival to show your support for ending the use of elephants and camels at the festival. Your presence helps raise awareness and demonstrates that our community is calling for a more compassionate future. Every person who shows up strengthens our collective voice. Protests are listed on the ARC website!

Every signature, protest, postcard, and respectful conversation helps show that festivalgoers want the MN Renaissance Festival to be filled with magic, music, merriment, and compassion for all creatures.

Marius Smith, one of the amazing volunteers who helps make Vegan University and Animal Rights Coalition programs possible, shared advice for anyone thinking about going vegan:

"Animal ethics is the true focus of veganism. Environmentalism, health, and other benefits are important, but keeping the animals at the center helps veganism become a lasting commitment."

Thank you, Marius, for being part of the ARC community and for contributing your time and energy to creating a more compassionate world for animals.

Interested in getting involved? Whether you enjoy tabling events, volunteering at sanctuaries, helping with campaigns, or supporting behind the scenes, there's a place for you at ARC. Every volunteer makes a difference, and we'd love to have you join us.
