SAPA hosted their annual iftar dinner last night in Minneapolis. It was a wonderful evening to break our fast alongside fellow law enforcement partners, local politicians, and community members. Several of our members were recognized for their contributions to the law enforcement community. We appreciate everyone who joined us to celebrate Ramadan and for your ongoing support of SAPA.

Minneapolis Police Sergeant Abdiwahab Ali was honored with the Peace Officer of the Year Award at this year’s Samafal Gala, hosted by the Minnesota Somali Community Center last weekend.

Sergeant Ali is a longstanding member and one of the founding members of the Somali American Police Association.

We express our sincere gratitude for his dedicated service to our profession and to the City of Minneapolis.
