ARCS Foundation, Inc. Minnesota Chapter ARCS Foundation, Inc - Minnesota Chapter provides scholar awards to talented STEM focused graduate students at the University of Minnesota.

The ARCS® Foundation is a national nonprofit volunteer women’s organization that promotes American competitiveness by funding talented U.S. scholars working to complete degrees in STEM disciplines. Nationally there are 16 chapters working with 54 of the nation's leading research universities. Since 1958, the organization has awarded more than $105 million to more than 10,000 students. ARCS Scholars have produced thousands of research publications and patents, secured $1.5+ billion in grant funding, started more than 1,800 science-related companies and played a significant role in teaching and mentoring young people in STEM fields.

The Minnesota Chapter is proud of Nicole and her important work on opioid receptors.

Nicole Quintis is an studying at the University of Minnesota. Her thesis project uses social defeat stress, a mouse model of depressive-like behavior, to explore how indirect activation of the opioid system contributes to differential gene expression within the brain, as well as anhedonia and social avoidance behaviors in mice.
