Weavers Guild of Minnesota

Weavers Guild of Minnesota Weaving, spinning, & dyeing since 1940. Learn with us! Founded in 1940, we are the largest weaving and spinning guild in the US, serving nearly 600 members.

At the Weavers Guild of Minnesota (WGM), we believe weaving, spinning, and dyeing are fundamental to the human experience. We offer classes designed for learners of all skill levels, workshops with nationally-recognized instructors, and public talks and exhibitions. We teach both online and in-person. WGM is unique in the region due to its permanent location and vast collection of weaving looms, s

pinning wheels, fiber processing equipment and array of printed resources. If you want to learn to weave or spin, you've come to the right place. At our space in Minneapolis (MN), WGM has dedicated classrooms and a shop selling specialty equipment, books, and yarns. Member benefits include meetings and lectures, self-study groups, exhibition opportunities and access to equipment and resources. Membership is open to everyone. Come in and be inspired!

Support the Guild with items you're no longer using!! We accept donations during the last week of every month (or, the third week in November and December). Our donations program nurtures access by raising funds for our programming and space. It connects unique, specialty supplies and equipment to new owners, diverting usable items from the landfill. It provides materials for the Guild's equipment library and off-site community programs. We also share and distribute donated equipment and supplies to community partners, schools, and cultural groups, spreading your generosity.

Spinning at the Northeast Farmers Market
Saturday, July 25: 9am-1pm

Join the Whorling Spinsters and spin at the Northeast Farmers Market this Saturday!

We'll have a table and tent from 9am - 1pm, but there's no requirement to show up at 9am, or stay the whole time. If you can only come for an hour, we'd love to see you for that hour!

No sign up necessary. This gathering isn’t meant as a formal demonstration opportunity, but as a way to spin together in a public facing capacity.

Please bring your own chair and plan to not have electrical outlet access. For more information about the market, check out their website.
