A Message from Alhaji-Ansu Komara,
President of MMA β The Minnesota Mandingo Association
I am issuing this statement to directly and firmly reject the assessment made in the recent public statement by Felmausa Felmausa current and outgoing Board Co-Chair (Venn Osman Turay) regarding MMA - The Minnesota Mandingo Association and to correct the record for the MMA Community.
Let me be unequivocal: Felmausa's chapter-based structure does not authorize any individual to speak on behalf of MMA, to dictate terms of "acceptance" for community members, or to invoke my name and leadership position as justification for ultimatums. That is not how legitimate organizations operate, and it will not be tolerated.
MMAs as a nonprofit Organization rest on peaceful coexistence, cooperation, and mutual respect. These are not weaknesses to be exploited for personal or political leverage, they are hard-earned strengths, and I will defend them accordingly. Neither Mohamed Enzah Dorley nor senior brother Obe Bamba has ever had any conflict with me, and/ or with the MMA Community and I, Alhaji-Ansu Komara, President of MMA, have never had any conflict with either of them. Any claim suggesting otherwise is false and presenting it to our community as fact is irresponsible and unacceptable.
I want to be clear about something further: this is not a request, it is an expectation going forward; my name and MMA's leadership will not be used to manufacture division, issue ultimatums, or pressure individuals into compliance with demands I never authorized. If this continues, I will not stay silent, and I will address it publicly and directly, every time it happens.
Statements built on assumption rather than fact do real damage to individuals, to MMA's Community, reputation, and to the unity Felmausa claims to champion. Before anyone references MMA or its leadership in a public dispute, the bare minimum expected is to ask questions and verify facts first. That has not happened here, and it needs to stop.
MMA has worked very hard, deliberately and consistently to build peace within our community. We have shown restraint, extended goodwill, and stayed above unnecessary conflict over the years. That restraint should not be mistaken for passivity. I will protect MMA's name and this community's peace, and I will not hesitate to push back publicly and firmly against anyone who attempts to use either as a tool for division.
TO BE DIRECT:
Do not disturb our peaceful coexistence, and do not speak for MMA again without collecting facts from its leadership or the president.
Alhaji-Ansu Komara,
President, MMA β The Minnesota Mandingo Association.
My name is not Komala but Komara, period!
