❤️ What a treat to welcome Sarah Widder during her Great State Trail Adventure!

On Thursday, October 16th, Bike Fed and Rails to Trails Conservancy hosted a reception for Sarah Widder and the local cycling community at the Bay View Wheel & Sprocket to enjoy tacos and trail talk!

🚴‍♀️ Sarah outlined on a large state map the trails she has ridden so far this month and where she'll ride on her way back to her hometown of Menomonie. We were all impressed by the miles she's riding (some with her mom!) and her dedication to bringing attention to the importance of the Knowles Nelson Stewardship Program

Feel Good Friday!

Bike Fed is proud and delighted to participate in adaptive bike day with Milwaukee Public Schools scholars!

The special day occurs every spring and fall and we had six staffers assisting on Friday, October 9th. One of the many highlights was one student who hand pedaled around the whole park!

We believe that everyone should feel the thrill of riding a bike! Ride on!

Regional Trail Connectivity to Expand in Northern Wisconsin!

We are thrilled that ICORE - Iron County Outdoor Recreation Enthusiasts received a $10,000 grant to support acquisition of three miles of the Hurley to Montreal Trail corridor from Canadian National, thanks to a Rails to Trails Conservancy grant that supports the development of local and regional trail networks.

The project will connect to the existing Iron Belle Trail across the state line in Michigan.

For this week's Walk or Wheel (WOW) Wednesday post, we're excited to highlight Vel Phillips Memorial High School and their bike club!

The VPM Bike Club is challenging their entire school community to collectively ride to school 500 times this October! The campaign encourages students and staff to bike to school, track their rides, and work together toward a shared goal. Participants can log their rides and even win raffle prizes! The bike club is also hosting a commuter station for a Bike to School Day coming up on Friday, 10/23.

The Bike Fed is proud to honor them as a WOW Challenge winner for inspiring their peers to get involved, get active, and make biking part of their school community. We can't wait to see them reach 500 rides!
