Milwaukee Area Labor Council Our Mission: "Organizing for economic and social justice in the workplace and community"

06/23/2026

Milwaukee Area Labor Council and our Immigrant Rights Committee was proud to stand in solidarity with Voces de la Frontera, clergy from First Unitarian Society of Milwaukee and St. Paul's Church Milwaukee, Ryan Clancy for Assembly District 19 and Milwaukee County Board Supervisor Anne O'Connor, and concerned community members at a press conference today calling for the release of Diana, an asylum seeker, and her 8-year-old son from ICE custody.

And we are equally angry and heartbroken that ICE went to this family's residence around 7 am this morning and took them into custody with plans to send them to a family detention center in Texas. This is not what family values look like. And working-class solidarity calls all workers and the labor movement as a whole to stand in solidarity with immigrant workers and families. Now is the time get involved. Now is the time to lift your voice. Full details in the video:

Solidarity reminds us that none are free until all are free, that an injury to one is an injury to all, and that the liberation of each moves us toward the goal of liberation for all!

On the 161st anniversary of , America’s unions celebrate and commemorate the end of slavery in the United States.

We’ll continue organizing and mobilizing across the country to fight for and protect our civil rights and bring economic justice to all workers.
