Today we joined labor, farm, and environmental activists and organizers outside the G20 Trade Summit to demand Fair Trade for Working Families.

Trade policy should work for working people, not billionaires and corporate CEOs. The current administration’s tariff-first approach has brought uncertainty and higher costs, but we deserve better than a different way of doing the same old thing.

It’s time we offer a clear vision: fair wages, strong labor rights, support for family farmers and small businesses, environmental protections, and real public oversight of trade negotiations.

Trade should serve people, not corporate profits.

Wisconsin wants fair trade. 🌐 As global trade officials gather in Milwaukee for the G20 Trade Ministerial, Wisconsin workers and families have an opportunity to ask a basic question: Who is our trade policy supposed to work for? The Trump administration has made tariffs the centerpiece of its trade strategy. But working people need more than tariffs. We need good jobs, fair wages, strong communities, thriving family farms, environmental protections, and an economy where corporations don't get to write the rules for everyone else.

"Wi" deserve a worker-centered alternative to both the old corporate free-trade model and a tariff-only approach.

Wall Street and multinational corporations rigged the system to control our democracy, consolidate economic power, and extract our wealth. They created a global trade regime of, by, and for the bosses, big banks, and billionaire class that screws working people and farmers, from NAFTA to USMCA, and the WTO.

We've never accepted the neoliberal model of global trade, and it's time to define an alternative that puts working people over the robber barons.

Trump is bringing the G20 trade ministers to Milwaukee for a major summit on September 30th -- we can't let his tariffs or the free trade orthodoxy of the political class define the next thirty years of the global trade regime.

Join us to protest the G20 trade ministers summit in Milwaukee, voice our opposition to the neoliberal order of trade policy, and define and demand our alternative that puts working people first, from farms to factories.

Wisconsin, stand up. It's time we put people over profits. It's time our economy serves the needs of the many rather than the will of an elite few. When we put the many over the money, communities prosper.

No matter who you are or where you work, YOU deserve a living wage. The fight will not end until we win living wages for all working Wisconsinites.

Wisconsin’s Living Wage Coalition launched last September, calling on State legislators to take up the demand for a living wage for all Wisconsin workers.

The coalition has grown to include labor unions, organizations, and Wisconsinites across the state - united around the basic proposition that all labor has dignity, all work has value, and all Wisconsinites deserve a living wage.

Wisconsin will reclaim our mantle as the most "Forward"-thinking state in the union... we will reshape our future by reclaiming our past. We will build a better Wisconsin for everyone by making work pay again.

"The new contract included “major victories” for workers and did not require any concessions from MASH, according to Peter Rickman, MASH president and business manager. “Worker-centered, member-driven, democratic trade unionism made these victories for Deer District employees, which will continue transforming their jobs for the better and setting the standard for service-sector work in Milwaukee and beyond,” Rickman said in a statement."
