Not all wounds are visible.
June is PTSD Awareness Month. General data shows about 30% of OIF/OEF era Veterans are diagnosed, 21% Desert Storm era, 30% Vietnam era and our greatest generation of Korean War and WWII Veterans have surely experienced trauma.
We want to remind our veterans, service members, and their families that they are not alone. PTSD surely affects combat Veterans; however, they are not alone as MST survivors, training accidents, first responders, Coast Guard, and and many other scenarios cause this life altering diagnosis.
Healing takes time and SUPPORT. At Fisher House Wisconsin, we understand that treating invisible wounds often requires the comfort and support of family nearby. We are proud to provide a "home away from home" so loved ones can stay together during treatment.
If you or a veteran in your life is in crisis, support is always available 24/7. Dial 988 and press 1, or text 838255.
