The Healthy County Challenge continues with a community field day on Sunday, July 12th! Playworks Wisconsin will be leading classic activities like the three-legged race and new outdoor games like rainbow tag. Meet us at Kletzsch Park any time from 1pm - 4pm for guaranteed fun for all ages.

We’re excited to officially start spotlighting the different activations happening at Carvd N Stone Foundation’s 2026 Authors of Color Book Fair! 📚✨

First up: DJ DripSweat, who will take us on a musical journey through Black music from the 1950s to today, celebrating generations of culture, creativity, and impact through sound. Carvd N Stone Foundation’s 2026 Authors of Color Book Fair is a FREE community event for all ages, taking place on Sunday, July 19, 2026, from 1–4 PM at McGovern Park in Milwaukee.

In partnership with the Milwaukee Parks Foundation, we’ll be giving away over 300 books written by authors of color on a first-come, first-served basis while creating a day centered around literacy, community, and culture.

Guests can also enjoy:�✨ Free horse rides�✨ Live performances & entertainment�✨ A snack bar�✨ Author Activations

Registration is free, but books are first come, first serve whether registered or not. We can’t wait to celebrate with the community this summer.

Our Walk in the Park series continues tomorrow at Cooper Park beginning with a sound bath from Camille Mays. We invite you to gather with us at the pavilion at 11am to enjoy the company of whoever attends and appreciate yet another Milwaukee County Park! Walk begins at noon. See you there rain or shine ☔️

Explore urban forests with Friends of Estabrook Park! This Saturday May 9th at 10am you can learn about identifying trees and our restoration efforts right here in Milwaukee County. We will begin in the south parking lot next to the Kilbourntown house.

The Lakefront Drone Show will be back Friday, July 3rd to celebrate Independence Day and we need your help! You have until May 15th to contribute to the $50,000 grant challenge put forth by philanthropists David Herro and Jay Franke. Your support makes an immense difference in continual access to high quality programming throughout Milwaukee County Parks. Have you ever wanted to learn more about fishing? Join us for a free fishing lesson at McGovern Park Saturday, May 9th from 9am - 12pm. Participants under 18 must have a parent or guardian present. Participants 16 or older must have a valid fishing license 🎣
