Community Shed Delivers Flag Cases to VFW Midland.

The Community Shed of Mid Michigan proudly delivered the first handcrafted flag display cases to the Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Midland, Michigan. Built by volunteer members in the shed, these cases are designed to respectfully display and protect the American flags presented to families in honor of veterans’ service. This first delivery marks the beginning of an ongoing project that allows our members to use their skills to support local veterans and give back to the community in a meaningful way. 🇺🇸

The Community Shed of Mid Michigan was proud to deliver handcrafted twin bed frames to Home To Stay, supporting their mission to help families transition into safe, stable housing. Built by our dedicated volunteers, these beds represent more than just furniture — they reflect our commitment to serving neighbors in need with dignity and care. We’re grateful to our members and donors who make projects like this possible, strengthening our community one build at a time.

Thank you for joining us for the opening of the Community Shed of Mid Michigan. Your presence, encouragement, and shared enthusiasm helped make the day truly special.

Seeing neighbors, partners, and friends come together reminded us why this Shed exists—to create a welcoming place where skills are shared, friendships are built, and community grows stronger. The conversations, laughter, and support we experienced reaffirm our mission and energize us for what’s ahead.

We are grateful for everyone who helped make this opening possible and for those who took the time to celebrate with us. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

With sincere thanks,

Community Shed Schedule Week of 12/14

Can you say 'home stretch"? We are on it now with a limited number of things to finish before our soft start up (making projects in the shop) in early January, and a more formal grand opening later in the month. Stay tuned for further details on both fronts.

This week we plan to work Monday - Thursday, starting at 10 am each day. Key activities will be installing grab bars etc in the bathroom, installing wiring and lights in the bay area, spreading insulation in the bay attic (bring headlamps for this), touch up painting, setting up/arranging tools in the shop, and making flag cases, one of our initial projects. We'd be grateful for your help; feel free to stop by for a tour even if you can't work.

Hi Folks,

We reached a major milestone last week. Drywall is finished and all walls and ceilings are painted! Thank you again to the volunteers who made that happen.

We will be working Monday through Friday this week, starting at 10am. Key activities are painting interior doors (including some bondo surface repair to two that are being reused), installing and trimming interior doors and windows, and installing lights and drop ceiling. We'd be grateful for your help; feel free to stop by for a tour even if you can't work.
