Celebrating women making a difference! Dr. Jennifer Hernandez joined Sana Cotten, Social Entrepreneur and Founder of Unashamed Inc., and Kaoutar Tayoubi Elidrissi, BSW, Middlesex alumna and Middlesex Community College Foundation Board Member, at the 4th Annual FOX61 United Way Impact Awards.

Dr. Hernandez, the inaugural Impactful Women Award honoree, had the honor of presenting this year’s award to Sana Cotten, recognized for her leadership and dedication to empowering foster youth through Unashamed Inc. and helping them build their own stories of success.

🎃🏃‍♀️ Connecticut State Middlesex Monster Dash 5K & Trunk-or-Treat 2026! 🏃‍♂️👻🍬

WOW! What an incredible turnout! 🧡🎉

Yesterday, our CT State Middlesex campus was filled with excitement, laughter, Halloween spirit, and an amazing sense of community! From runners and walkers hitting the course to creative costumes, decorated trunks, sweet treats, and even our adorable four-legged friends 🐶🐾, it was an evening to remember!

👏💙 A HUGE THANK YOU to our incredible runners, walkers, volunteers, event organizers, campus staff, sponsors, community partners, and everyone who came out to support the Middlesex Foundation!

🚓🚒 Special thanks to our local first responders for being part of the festivities and helping support our community!

🍭🎃 To all the families and children who joined us for Trunk-or-Treat, thank you for bringing your smiles, excitement, and Halloween spirit!

Your support at the Hartford Yard Goats game helps create opportunities for our students and reflects the power of our community. It was wonderful to see an entire section of Middlesex supporters come together for such a meaningful cause.

Earlier this month, Nick Bellantoni, Ph.D., 1973 Middlesex grad and emeritus state archaeologist, led a hike at Gay City State Park in Hebron with members of MILE (Middlesex Institute for Lifelong Education) as their final group activity. While MILE is disbanding, several members are joining CCALC (Castle Craig Adult Learning Center) in Meriden, also affiliated with the MxCC Foundation. To learn about CCALC, email [email protected]. As MILE (Middlesex Institute for Lifelong Education) concludes a 33-year legacy of learning, friendship and community engagement, its members presented the MxCC Foundation with a generous $10,000 gift. MILE members Elisabeth Tischio, Laurel Patt and Nancy Rogalsky ceremonially presented the donation to Foundation representative Stacey Burgess and board chair Laura Pieper on June 18. We are deeply grateful for MILE’s longstanding support and the lasting impact the group has made on our campus community. 🌷
