The Better Middlebury Partnership (BMP) is a civic organization dedicated to making the Greater Middlebury area a better place to live, work, and play.

The BMP builds partnerships with the town, Middlebury College, and the business community to promote a vibrant and thriving Middlebury. We support local businesses through signature events, initiatives and the Middlebury Money program. We prote

ct the integrity and vitality of Middlebury's downtown by running the State's Designated Downtown program, and overseeing the Downtown Improvement District. We advocate for projects and initiatives that will contribute to smart economic growth. And, we build community because we believe that it's the most important thing we can do. Our annual events throughout the year have experienced enormous success and support over the past few years, bringing thousands of people into our downtown.

Five fabulous days of film, filmmakers, storytelling and creativity are here as the Middlebury New Filmmakers Festival takes over town!

Events like this are part of what makes Middlebury such a wonderful place to live, work, visit and play — bringing people together and filling our downtown with energy.

Late summer in Middlebury is gearing up, not winding down! ☀️❤️

After a wonderful weekend celebrating 50 years of the Middlebury Co-op (and don’t miss their historical display, up through mid-September), there’s plenty more community fun ahead.

🎬 Middlebury New Filmmakers Festival 26-30 August
🌽 Summer Markets + farm stands bursting with local produce & artisanal goods

📚 Ilsley Library opening — Aug 29

Community engagement at its finest! ♻️✨

Identify an issue, get the word out, gather the powers that be, discuss, take action — and sometimes put $$ behind it — and a challenge can very quickly become a great-looking solution.

A huge thank you to Dave Silberman for his generous contribution towards keeping downtown Middlebury tidy, clean and welcoming. We love seeing community members step up with practical solutions that make a real difference.

And you can now spot Dave’s dedicated bin in its new home between the Ilsley Library and the Town Offices!

Teamwork really does make the dream work. 💚 Much gratitude to Dave and everyone involved in making it happen.
