Another magical Trauma Talks graduation, this time at the Cibola Unit in Arizona!

What a privilege to hear the transformative insights the 18 men shared this morning as we celebrated all the work they put in over these past 16 weeks. Their honesty and courage inspired all of us.

Thank you Frannia Aguilera and Arizona Department of Corrections for bringing our evidence-based, transformative program to the Cibola Unit! Word is spreading, and it looks like we’ll be in more units throughout AZ in the near future!

Look at the smiles on these faces. This is what healing looks like. 🧡

And yes, “When we’re aware, we can repair!”

We just spent four days visiting the Turnaround Project and Magilligan Prison in Northern Ireland, then Dóchas and Wheatfield Prisons, the SAOL Project, Merchants Quay, and the MCDAR Recovery Center in the Republic of Ireland.

We also met with the incredible team at the Probation Board for Northern Ireland.

With three prisons in Northern Ireland already running Trauma Talks, and prisons in the Republic soon to follow, we’re about to see what’s possible when healing and transformation reach the men and women living in Ireland’s prisons.

Four community programs, four days, three prisons, two countries, one island.

We just spent four days visiting the turnaround Project and Magilligan Prison in Northern Ireland, Douchas and Wheatfield prisons and SAOL Project and Merchants Quay and MCDAR Recovery Center in the Republic of Ireland.

We also met with the incredible team at Probation Board for Northern Ireland.

With three prisons in Northern Ireland running Trauma Talks and soon to prisons in the Republic of Ireland, running Trauma Talks, we will soon see what might be possible with the healing and transformation of the men and women living in Ireland prisons.

Day one in Ireland, and we are off to a running start. In addition to the SAOL Project we visited:
Merchants Quai Ireland
Dochas Women’s Prison part of Mount Joy Prison complex

Such an incredible honor to be able to meet the light healers, and the women who are curious, and interested in learning more about trauma and our Trauma Talks curriculum.

Tony and Michael are incredible emissaries of transformation. 💗

We closed our fiscal year at the end of June, and I wanted to see how many Trauma Talks workbooks had left our hands and landed inside a prison or a jail between last July and this one. I expected a lot as there are more orders every week. I did not expect this.

33 sets of Trauma Talks to prisons around the US including CA, PA, OH, TX, MI, FL, OK, AR and IN.

33 individuals who didn’t know what childhood trauma did to their brain, body and spirit.

33 opportunities to heal, grow and transform.

33 men and women who have taken the first step to remember who they truly are.

Eight of those individuals are also receiving our Trauma Talks Facilitation Guide and access to our Trauma Talks Facilitation Training.

We send boxes out like this every week.

Brian has spent years finding a way to bring Trauma Talks to his prison and his determination has made this happen.

On the edges of the poster are the 10 ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences).

ACEs, adverse childhood experiences, change the way we see the world and ourselves.

Most of the people in prison have at least one ACE, and 64% of the men and women we surveyed in prison have six or more ACEs. Violence witnessed or experienced during childhood changes the way your brain functions and affects our behavior, decisions, and outcomes.

When we are aware, we can repair.
