We’re excited to officially welcome them to the Uptown Arts District and celebrate this exciting milestone. Their unique blend of great coffee, delicious treats, and nostalgic charm adds even more character to our growing district.

As one of our newer businesses, Brew Box is helping create the vibrant, walkable, and welcoming atmosphere that makes the UAD such a special place. Whether you’re grabbing a quick drink, catching a train, or exploring the neighborhood, be sure to stop in and show them some love.

Sad news….we decided to cancel our event due to “oh-so-fun-and-unpredictable” Midwest weather. 🌧️ We’re definitely planning for something cool for July so stay tuned! 🤘🏼

If you were planning to go out into the Uptown Arts District today….DO IT!! The businesses are still there and they’ve got some pretty cool’s stuff going on today.

The Brew Box Michigan City is launching their summer menu today and extended their hours for First Friday….highly recommend their cold brew 🤤

Wren on Wabash has local artist, Meg O’Malley’s pieces there and 30% off the store starting at 4PM!

Coffee and shopping…highly recommend 😎

☕🌿 Another 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝑮𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒕 participant helping add a little extra charm to the Uptown Arts District!

A big shoutout to The Brew Box Michigan City, one of the newer businesses in the district and perfectly situated next to the beautifully renovated train station. Their retro-inspired vibe is a fun nod to Michigan City’s rich history and makes for a unique stop whether you’re a local or just passing through.

Whether you’re grabbing a delicious coffee, a sweet treat, or waiting to catch the train to Chicago, Brew Box is worth the stop.

𝑫𝒊𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘? - they even have a walk-up window that’s perfect for cyclists, dog walkers, and anyone on the go. 🐶

We’ve also heard a little rumor that there may be a cozy patio space in the works… 👀 Stay tuned for more on that.

🌿 Another Uptown Arts District business is helping bring even more beauty to the district through our 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝑮𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒕 Program!

A big thank you to Line Mullins Group Interior for participating. Their storefront is absolutely stunning and adds so much charm and character to the streetscape.

And if you think the outside is beautiful, just wait until you step inside. The thoughtfully curated space is filled with unique treasures, inspiring décor, and design details around every corner. It’s one of those shops where you can wander a little longer than planned and still discover something new.

Our first Plant Grant submission is in and we are SO excited! 🌸 Jasica Twardus Real Estate at Blackrock Real Estate Services went above and beyond with these gorgeous planters! And keeping it local going to Sevick Gardens right here in the Uptown Arts District. ♥️

The district is coming to life and we want to see MORE. Whose storefront is next? 👀

Sometimes you don’t realize how strong your community is until you need them. 🩶🩶🩶

After the theft of our trailer and event equipment, we were honestly facing a stressful moment. It is not easy to regroup when something like that happens but before we could even sit in that frustration for long, partners stepped up and reminded us exactly why we do this work.

On behalf of the Board of the Michigan City Mainstreet Association we want to sincerely thank Tnt Fire Equipment and Monarch Development & Construction for donating essential items to help replace what was lost. You responded quickly, generously, and without hesitation. That kind of support makes a real difference.

We are also deeply grateful to the sponsors who made Shelf Ice Brewfest 2026 possible this year:
