It’s that time of the year!

Was a great evening last night for Pine Elementary School’s truck or treat event! We even had some trick or treaters who wanted their pictures taken with our guys! Even had a future member show up and grab a sticker to add to his gear!

Last night, we held a business meeting for our department. At the meeting, our Fire Chief Robert Watkins received an award for his years of service and dedication to the community. He has served our community for over 40 years and cares deeply for the department and community. He is the example of what you look for in a chief, a firefighter, and a member of the department. He’s the first one in and the last one to leave. He responds to over 98% of our emergency calls and also is our station mechanic as well. A true role model for our younger members and a pillar of the community. We thank our chief for everything he does for the community and for our department.

**NEW DONATION METHOD**

We’ve done it! We were able to partner with our bank to make donations to our department easier for you to do! Every year we try to send out an informational letter to our community about our department and also put envelopes in it for anyone who would like to send a donation. This works for those who write checks or give cash donations. We realize that a lot of those ways of giving are not beneficial to everyone. So, we partnered with with our bank to create a QR code for everyone who would want to donate to us that way! We debuted it at our Open House last Sunday. Now, we bring it to to everyone! All you need to do is scan the QR code, fill out the information, verify you’re not AI, submit, and then complete! You will receive a receipt via email as well for your records!

Remember, our department is a 501-C-3 organization recognized by the IRS, making donations tax deductible for you! You also don’t have to live in our coverage area to donate either. If you’re looking for a good cause to donate to or just a group of people who work hard for their community you’d like to support, just scan the QR code and make your donation today!

**GRANT ALERT**

Recently, we were awarded a grant check from Cleveland Cliffs in the amount of $10,000 to go towards the purchase of our new Genesis Rescue Systems spreaders! We were more than grateful for this contribution to our department. We would like to thank Cleveland Cliffs for this grant. A special thanks to Mitchell Powell at Howell Rescue Systems for assistance in making this purchase!
