Training is always at the forefront for our department. This is why we hold training sessions at least once a week for our department. This week, pump operations with our mainline engine.

Back at it with another member spotlight! May was a busy month for us with a lot happening in front of the camera and also behind the scenes. But we are back with our next member, Chris Vernard.

Chris is a member who is always working behind the scenes. Whether it’s keeping our trucks and equipment clean or being on station covering daytime calls, Chris is there. Chris is a very dedicated member to our department. If he is off work, he’s on the call. Chris is apart of our wave of the next generation of firefighters for our department and we are glad to have him.

Yesterday, our department was dispatched to a smoke investigation. When we arrived in the area, we found smoke from a small brush fire that had started. Chief 4501, Brush 4573, Tanker 4541, and Squad 4550 responded.

Every year, we help send the students of Pine Elementary School off for summer break by letting them ride under the deck guns of our engines. We always work with our school to help them in any way we can. This is one that is fun for everyone!
